Breaking my stagnation
It is impossible to say that in my life I have not gone through a period of stagnation, logically there are aspects in which we move forward no matter how hard we work, and in other aspects we can strive hard, but we feel that we do not move forward.
When we are aware that we are striving for something and we are not advancing, that is to say that we do not see the favorable results that we expect, we must make a review, as it is very likely that we have entered a period of stagnation, this means that if we are striving to improve and do things well, but without knowing it we are not doing things well.
In my particular case I have been able to realize that I have gone through multiple periods of stagnation, where I do not see progress no matter how hard I try, it is there where I identify the moment of stagnation and proceed to break with it, but maybe you wonder:
What strategies do you use to break through stagnation?
The first thing I explain is that in order to achieve a goal you have to have habits that lead you to achieve a certain goal, which is why in order to break the stagnation, we must make a review of each of our habits, it may be that a habit that we think that we are doing well for the achievement of our goals, is rather the one that is hurting us.
Let me give you an example: One of the goals I set this year is to lose weight, but especially to lose accumulated fat, doing cardiovascular exercise and weight training. As time went by I noticed that no matter how hard I tried I did not see any noticeable change, it is at that point where I made a review of my habits, and I realized that the habit of trying harder than I should was hurting me, the only thing I achieved is that my physical recovery was slow and make a favorable scenario for injuries, besides that the stress generated made me produce more cortisol and at the same time gain more weight by accumulation of fat.
When I realized all this, I corrected this habit, now I give more rest to my body, at the same time I realize that I perform better in my physical exercises, so now I see favorable and positive changes.
With all this I also want to affirm that there is no single strategy, if any of the implemented strategies does not work, it is necessary to try another one and observe results.
For example in my case I began to notice that in my teaching activity I was stagnating in my classes, both in my high school classes and in my university classes, this means that no matter how hard I tried to explain, the students did not understand me, I tried several things to break the stagnation, but it was not until I changed my routine of explaining that I began to see favorable results.
The moral of the story is that sometimes we stagnate because we do not change our work routines, and sometimes we have to change the way and routine in which we work, because maybe what we think works for us does not work for others.
This learning also makes us reflect that when we are in a business project or where our success depends on the taste of other people, we should not think and act based on what we like to us, because falling into that routine can stagnate us, it is necessary to change the routine and try to make other people feel comfortable, which in the end is the goal of our project.
