How's my cute Hive community doing? I hope everyone is very well, take a deep breath and tell me, don't you smell how beautiful February is? With all that love and the Valentine's ritual every year, I love the February effect where we all remember the flowers, the chocolates and the appointments, since I am no exception, I am here to tell you a little about my experience Valentine's Day together with a review of the place El Viejo Sosa here in Montevideo Uruguay.
¿Cómo se encuentra mi linda comunidad de Hive? espero que todos muy bien, respira profundo y dime, ¿no hueles lo lindo que es febrero? con todo ese amor y el ritual de San Valentín de cada año, me encanta el efecto febrero donde todos nos acordamos de las flores, los chocolates y las citas, ya que yo no soy la excepción, les vengo a contar un poco de mi experiencia del dia de San Valentin junto a un review del local el Viejo Sosa aquí en Montevideo Uruguay.

This restaurant for this romantic date "El Viejo Sosa" (chosen by my boyfriend), is located at Coronel Mora 603, in the heart of Punta Carretas, the menu is quite varied but as we drove we didn't drink any alcoholic beverages and since we don't usually eating sea food we wanted to vary the chosen food a bit.
But well, speaking a little about the place, we decided to be inside because the heat outside was incredible, however the tables and the outside looked very pretty with natural lighting and lots of plants.
Although I am a fan of google maps and we check all the restaurant options there before going, if you are walking and you run into this place, it will surely catch your attention to enter, because the atmosphere feels very pleasant even without having entered .

Este restaurante para este cita romántica "El Viejo Sosa" (elegido por mi novio), esta ubicado en Coronel Mora 603, en pleno corazon de Punta Carretas, el menú es bastante variado pero nosotros como manejabamos no tomamos ninguna bebida alcohólica y como no solemos comer comida del mar queríamos variar un poco la comida elegida.
Pero bien, hablando un poco del local, decidimos estar en la parte interior porque el calor de afuera era increíble, sin embargo las mesitas y la parte exterior se veian muy bonitas con iluminación natural y bastantes plantas.
Aunque yo soy fanática del google maps y todas las opciones de restaurantes las revisamos por alli antes de ir, si vas caminando y te topas con este local, seguro te llama la atención para entrar, porque el ambiente se siente muy ameno incluso sin haber ingresado.
Inside the atmosphere was not far behind, it had a cooler temperature and when choosing the table we decided to be in the basement thanks to the recommendation of the friendly waitress, an environment where we were surrounded by wines and plants, a very cozy place and music with a playlist of Ed Sheeran, Miley Cyrus, Adele in more ballad versions, excellent choice for Valentine's Day, all providing quite a romantic feeling.
The genius of the waiter who served us a young Uruguayan boy, guess what his name was, well Valentin so he celebrated February 14 for two, he treats us very kindly, he was always attentive to the table, he recommended good things to us and I highly recommend that if they go to the local the boy attends them.
Adentro el ambiente no se quedaba atras, tenía una temperatura mas fresca y al elegir la mesa decidimos estar en un subsuelo gracias a la recomendación de la amable mesera, un ambiente donde nos encontramos rodeados de vinos y plantas, un lugar muy acogedor y la música con una playlist de Ed Sheeran, Miley Cyrus, Adele en versiones mas baladas, excelente elección para San Valentín, todas brindando una sensación bastante romántica.
El genio del mesero que nos atendió un chico joven uruguayo, que adivinen como se llamaba, pues Valentín asi que ese celebraba el 14 de febrero por dos, nos trata muy amable, siempre estaba atento de la mesa, nos recomendó buenas cosas y super recomiendo que si van al local el chico los atienda.
Well here we are in the most awaited part of the post, the meal of the day, this time we only ordered two things from the entire menu, a sea food for two people at a cost of 1580 pesos (40$ USD) this took a while little but as you can see in the photos it is such a substantial mince that 3 people can surely eat this dish, on the main tray we will have rustic potatoes, battered squid rings, battered fish, shrimp with a spicy touch on toothpicks and cherry tomatoes with arugula and cheese, all the flavors went together super well and it was an excellent choice.

This snack for two people was accompanied by a plate with 4 very tasty fish croquettes and a seafood preserve, everything was excellent, this preserve reminded me of the famous "mattress breaker, 7 powers, raises the dead", any number of names funny that you hear on the Venezuelan beaches when they sold a variant of this recipe.
Bueno aquí estamos en la parte mas esperada del post,la comida del dia, en esta ocasion solo pedimos dos cosas de todo el menú, una picada de mar para dos personas con un costo de 1580 pesos (40$ USD) esta se tardó un poco pero como pueden apreciar en las fotos es una picada tan sustanciosa que seguramente pueden comer 3 personas de este plato, en la bandeja principal tenermos papas rústicas, rabas rebozadas, pescado rebozado, camarones con un toque picante en palillos y tomates cherry con rúcula y queso, todos los sabores combinaban super bien y fue una excelente elección.
Esta picada para dos personas venia acompañada de un plato con 4 croquetas de pescado muy sabrosas y una conserva de frutos del mar, todo estaba excelente, esta conserva me recordó al famoso "rompe colchón, 7 potencias, levanta muertos", cualquier cantidad de nombres divertidos que escuchas en las playas Venezolanas cuando vendian una variante de esta receta.
Believe it or not, even more so coming from two fat eaters like Fran and me, half of this dish was left (which we ordered to take away) and we went back for lunch the next day, that only means that the portion is big, which I'm glad about because In other places I have been sad because it does not compensate for the quantity-price relationship.
The juice was a lemonade with strawberries that was very good in consistency and flavor, in addition to that we ordered a water and the total expense including tip was approximately 2100 pesos (53$ USD) which might seem a lot but by Uruguayan standards, Valentin's attention, the quality of the food, among other factors, is an acceptable average price.
Although I try not to leave a single detail out, it's better to live it and eat it than read it, so I'll leave you here, the details of the place in case you wanted to visit it.

Aunque parezca mentira, aun mas viniendo de dos gordos comelones como Fran y yo, de este platos quedo la mitad (que pedimos para llevar) y volvimos a almorzar al dia siguiente, eso solo significa que la porción es grande, cosa que me alegra porque en otros lugares he quedado triste porque no compensa la relación cantidad - precio.
El jugo era una limonada con fresas que estaba muy buena en consistencia y sabor, ademas de eso pedimos un agua y el gasto total incluyendo propina fue de aproximadamente unos 2100 pesos (53$ USD) que podra parecer bastante pero para los estandares de Uruguay, la atención de Valentin, la calidad de los alimentos, entre otros factores es un precio medio, aceptable.
Aunque trato de no dejar ni un detalle por fuera, es mejor vivirlo y comerlo, que leerlo, asi que te dejo por aca, los datos del local por si te quedaron ganas de visitarlo.
