Fungi Friday: They must be hiding on me.

Some of these outings don't pan out as well as I hoped and this was one of them. I was still able to capture one fungi.

I made sure to scour the scene all around me. I looked up into the trees for mushrooms like @mipiano taught me many mushroom posts ago and nothing was up there. I even had a full ladder strapped to my back this time too to get some up close and personal shots but it was all for naught 😀

When I saw a log I was sure to walk over and check the other side. They like to hide from sight from my experiences but not from conversations.

I've been meaning to give Francine the Mushroom a call again. We haven't spoken too much after I picked them up from fungi jail. I don't believe there are any more people in a similar predicament but you never know. Continual posting about mushrooms doesn't come easy and it's not from lack of trying either.

So what did I find?

I found this.

This one wasn't very talkative. So much so a green substance was growing all over themselves. Lack of interaction I suppose.

I hit the zoom and it sure zoomed but it's a little blurry as usual. Only the best shots possible need apply. I will see you in fungi photography detention in a little bit.

Grumble, grumble who goes there?

Hrmpf, you're hard to miss stomping around here.

Oh why thank you, my reputation proceeds me I guess.

I felt the vibrations, that's all. We're very attuned with the world around us you now.

I watched a documentary about the fungi awhile ago and yes, I learned all about the fascinating facts such as mycelium. Apparently you can communicate this way.

We chatted a bit longer on this day about this and that until the battery in my device died. Technology, it's always not working when you need it or in this case when the time escapes you. A small price to pay for a new mushroom friend named Marvin.

I believe the green junk that once covered them is gone now. They simply needed to exercise their voice more often. I now know the spot and will be back again but this time I will get in my shots first while the power is still available.
