Fungi Friday: The deluge of fungi are here.
I was walking through the woods one day with my eyes wide open searching for the elusive hiding spots of the ones known as the fungi. A secretive clean that knows how to hide on you.
I looked to my left and saw this.
I wandered over and noticed this. zOMG I've hit the mother lode!
This entire log is covered in them.
You'll need to spend some time in this community and you'll find their hiding spots. At first I used to always look on the ground. Then I started craning my neck looking upwards. You know what? They're up in the trees too but not on this day.
I was trying to capture the furthest point of the log on this one.
Check out that nice looking rainbow tail.
Trying to focus, there is a difference in the photos.
The long log shot
They really do look like land coral to me.
They're really everywhere. Keep your eyes open and scanning. You'll find them in the strangest places, trust me.
The whole side is infested with mushroom goodness.
The downward shot.
Trying to focus a little further down the log.
All of these were found on the ground this time and that's fine by me. I walked out of there with lots of interesting shots, lots of blurry shots and about a zillion burrs stuck to me as usual.
This is a small price to pay for a nice walk looking for fungi. To be honest, I need to find a way to deal with these burrs. Maybe I need a protective bubble around me? Sure that makes sense and they'd probably be rolling around in my fungi hunting bubble anyways 😀

The impression I see, this mushroom looks like an oyster at the mouth of the river.
I see what you mean. I haven't had oysters in so long now I may need to get a bunch.

That is a motherload indeed! :D
Very true :))
Don't mistake these for bumps on a log, fungi on a log is the technical term 😀
Thank you
