Fungi Friday: Tails but no turkeys.
Walking along singing a song I turned my head and found this log covered with fungi.
They look a little dried out to me and have seen better days. They should carry some water bottles with them more often. 8 glasses a day is the common saying but I rarely drink this much water.
The other end was filled with turkey tails but no turkeys. Don't you find it odd how turkeys is not spelled turkies? I always have to think about this one for a second.
Are those baby mushrooms starting to grow here too? They might be but I can't be sure. I'm no fungiologist.
I think we're a little zoomed out here. Taking in the situation from a distance always proves useful in all situations. In this case I think I needed to stand back a little more.
I was trying to capture a bit more of the mushrooms growing around the log. They seemed to have found the perfect spot and are attempting to reclaim it as their own.
They do look like numerous different things. Butterflies, leaves or coral when I don't know what it is at first.
Even the leaves are liking this log and tend to blend in. While the top side of this leaf can't pass for a mushroom the bottom part sure does with a similar color shade. Most mushrooms I've met are very accepting of others and welcome everyone. This leaf will be part of family in no time.

I like to get my water in the form of Mt Dew LOL
I used to be a Pepsi junkie at one point in time and would drink around the same required number of cans a day 😀

I like your fungi post.
These fungi and I might need some flash cards to remember my 8 glasses of water a day haha

I think it will be covered in fungus in no time. Let's wait and check back. What beautiful fungus, and so varied. It stands among a select group.
I never have any fungus here. It is so disappointing!
Nice job photographing it... even if it was standing quite still. How did you get him to do that? :)
These fungi are usually good subjects. I've haven't met any that have not agreed to sign photo release form 😀

I wish I had some around here! We just don't get enough damp weather! Thanks for the pizza!
