My 80-90 Nostalgia Tour (En/ Es)
English
These days I was walking through stores, on the occasion of the purchase of a chip for my husband's cell phone, I started to observe all the electronic things that are now available to us and how much technology has advanced, for those of us who were born in the 70s or 80s, we have had to live through all these electronic changes. I was born in the 70's, my childhood and adolescence took place between the 80's and 90's; for those of us born in those years, we always comment that thank God there were no social networks, and therefore no internet because that freed us from “evidence” of our mischief, stories and adventures, they only remain in our minds or maybe hopefully in a photo ha, ha, ha, ha.
Today, almost everything goes hand in hand with an electronic device; For example, when I was a young girl, the first thing I took to go out was my wallet, along with my purse, where I carried my money, debit and credit cards and some makeup, that was the main thing, but nowadays, the first thing I take in hand is my cell phone, if I'm going to be late I take my charger, then my wallet with everything else, well, and my glasses that have become essential when going out, because of this to see well from afar and some things up close ha, ha, ha, ha; but more or less that's how the order goes.

With the cell phone alone we have a whole world of possibilities at our disposal, but the main one is communication, either by calls, text messages or WhatsApp, without including Messenger or Facebook, Instagram or TikTok, to speak of the most popular social networks or at least the ones I use the most. I remember that in my younger years, it was easier to tell parents that where we were, “they had no phone” and there suddenly died a scolding; but nowadays children are not saved from a reprimand for this reason, because from a certain age we parents already bought them their first devices, with the main intention of keeping in touch with them at any time ....
So they don't like the idea that there was no phone, but they use the excuse “there was no signal”. Ha, ha, ha, ha, but hey, at least there is a better chance of locating a rebellious or naughty teenager. Nowadays it is the fashion to take a picture or a selfie for everything, even of the smallest thing, some people abuse this, but that's the way it is now; I am one of those people who prefer to savor their moments and if there is a picture in the middle I make sure that it does not interrupt what is being lived, because life is made of those moments and you have to live them intensely without distraction, that's my opinion.
In my time there were no questions: where is my charger, or have you seen my laptop or tablet, or where did you put my Alexa, to put it simply. I can imagine my face, if someone had asked me about these things in those years, I would have been totally lost; in the 80's or 90's we only saw these things in the cartoon The Jetsons, ha, ha, ha, ha. I hope you liked my nostalgic tour of things that nobody would have asked for in the 80's and 90's. Greetings, friends!

I think things will keep on changing dramatically. Now is AI is coming into everything, once the internet of things makes a comeback and our devices start talking to each other it would be another huge change.
Something I wonder is how much time someone thinks about the past, versus thinking about the future.
Yeah things worked out in the past but also, there were a lot of things that didn't, and would have been easily solved with a text message or quick call. We were young and didn't had Wikipedia to know that what we were doing was good or bad. Or maybe there was no evidence to prove we didn't have anything to do with the matter.
It's funny to think how your 13 year old kid will talk to your 13 year old self about the world and vice versa. I'm sure there is a movie about that. But tech and lifestyle definitely change for most parts for the better.
I was someone obsessed with cartoons and didn't like to go to parties and miss my cartoons. Sometimes I wonder if it will matter that much if I can always just watch it later and not be bothered.
Same thing with Uber, digital payments and cashless lifestyle.
It would be very interesting to confront these two selves, at the same time. To observe the surprise of the one and the smugness of the other hahaha hahaha that would be worth seeing. As for the AI it's a double edged sword in my opinion.... Hopefully and know how to put limits on how much it should be present in our lives. Greetings and thanks for the visit!
Hi @brujita18, we often wonder how we survived without cell phones, missing a bus back then, and someone fetching us at the bus station, but no way of letting them know! Life for sure has changed in a big way.
Yes, before it was very cumbersome to communicate almost by smoke signals hahaha hahaha fortunately today everything is just a click away and how it makes things easier for us. Greetings!!!
