Od kilku dni poszukiwaliśmy z córką pewnej książki, która jest jej potrzebna do zaliczenia przedmiotu na studiach. Podobnie jak w Polsce wykładowcy dorabiają wydając książki, a następnie wymagają wiedzy z tych ksiażek na egzaminach. Oczywiście nakład jak to zwykle w przypadku wydawnictw akademickich nie jest duży, a dostanie książki w bibliotece graniczy z cudem, niewiele lepiej jest w księgarniach. W jednej z księgarni córka chciała zamówić ją nawet, okazało się, że będzie siódma w kolejce i nie ma gwarancji, kiedy ją otrzyma. Można kupić używany egzemplarz na Amazonie za... podwójną cenę. Przekopałem internet i okazało się, że najprawdopodobniej jest dostępna w jednej z księgarni niedaleko Mons. Pojechałem tam z samego rano i misję zakończyłem sukcesem. Mieszkałem w tym miasteczku przez trzy lata, przy tej samej ulicy, a nie kojarzyłem, że jest tam księgarnia, może przez to, że w takich księgarniach trudno o książki w innym języku niż francuski.

[ENG] For several days, my daughter and I have been looking for a book that she needs to pass a subject at university. Just as in Poland, lecturers publish books for a living and then require knowledge from these books during exams. Of course, as is usually the case with academic publishers, the print run is not large and getting the book in the library is almost impossible. In one bookshop my daughter even wanted to order it, it turned out that she would be seventh in the queue and there was no guarantee when she would receive it. You can buy a used copy on Amazon for... double the price. I googled the internet and found that it was most likely available in one of the bookshops near Mons. I went there first thing in the morning and the mission was a success. I had lived in this town for three years, on the same street, and did not know there was a bookshop there, perhaps because it is difficult to find books in a language other than French in such bookshops.

Po południu już spokojnie pojechaliśmy na tradycyjny marsz z kijkami do lasu w Havre. Zastanawiałem się, czy nie przełożyć treningu biegowego ze środy na wtorek, ale tak nie zrobiłem. Głównie przez lenistwo, a po drugie nie sprawdziłem prognozy pogody na środę, gdybym to zrobił wcześniej pewnie bym pobiegał we wtorek.

[ENG] In the afternoon we took it easy and went for a traditional nordic walk in the woods of Havre. I thought about postponing the run training from Wednesday to Tuesday, but I didn't. Mainly due to laziness, and secondly I didn't check the weather forecast for Wednesday, if I had done that earlier I probably would have run on Tuesday.
