MY EXPERIENCE AT THE STUDIO TODAY
Hello guys, how are you all feeling today? Hope everyone is cool though.
So today i will be telling you guys what happend at my studio today. I was on my system mastering a song, this dude just poped in,he was looking straight at me,i didn't hesitate,i calmly say hi to him and ask him what does he want, and he said he is an artist. I was like wow! Welcome to Dreamout studio, i rushly went in to tell my boss that we have an artist who wishes to record in his studio. My boss came out and they both shake hands and exchange pleasantries..my boss asked how did he get to know about the studio and his reply was,a friend told him about the studio and he has also listen to some songs mixed and masterd in Dreamout studio.. My boss congratulated him alots and asked him the kind of song he as an artist makes and he said he's an afro singer. It sound great to me! And i like it.
HOW IT ALL STARTED.
He booked a session of 4 hours. We all know what booking of session mean. So he booked two sessions and in these sections, two song is meant to be recorded before its time elaps. We began to record,as he was singing, it was showing on the system that he is not delivering well. The funniest part was that this dude didn't complete his songs and he booked a short session, funny yeh!
6 things an artist should do before going to the music studio.
- Establish a target for your session
The artist should know how many tracks he's recording and how is session he booked going to move his career to the top. - Make sure you finish and know your writing off heart before going to the studio.
The worst thing that can happen to an artist is turning up for a studio session with uncomplited writings of song . writing in the studio is kinda fucking expensive because you will need to pay some artist there to help you through. So decipline yourself extremely well before going to the studio. - Have a backup of files.
What i normally do is have like five backups of my work: two in my dvd,two in computer incase the one in the dvd fail, and also one at home.
4.Bounce down
Don't act as if the studio you are going to will have all the plugins you do use at home. Yours might be diff from the one they use in the studio, but you can still bounce back by telling them the kind of plugins you think it will be suitable for your song. - Take some food with you
You need some energy when you are recording hard in studio. It gives you energy while recording in the studio.
