Not really good with keeping schedules, but at least this SMS View is on time. It's another flashback to mid-October 2020. Because there were not enough images, I put it together from 2 days.Meine Pünktlichkeit läßt zu wünschen übrig, aber zumindest dieser MBM-Blick kommt rechtzeitig. Wieder mal ein Rückblick auf Mitte Oktober 2020. Da es nicht genug Bilder gab, habe ich 2 Tage zusammengepappt.

First I went into the orchards around Patras. Even in October, wildlife is quite active in Greece. Found this nice fly with orange hairs, trying to get some warmth from the afternoon sun:Zunächst ging es in die Olivenhaine um Patras. Selbst im Oktober ist die Tierwelt in Griechenland sehr aktiv. Fand diese interessante Fliege mit orangem Haar, die sich in der Sonne ein wenig aufwärmte.

Couldn't find out which species it is, though.Leider aber keine Ahnung, welche Art es ist.

Nearby in the sandy area was another little bugger looking for sunny warmth. This one was nice enough to spread its wings for some better photos:In der Nähe saß ein anderes, kleines Viech in der Hoffnung auf sonnige Wärme. War so nett, die Flügel zu spreizen, um bessere Fotos zu ermöglichen:

Could be a mallow skipper (Carcharodus alceae), or maybe some other kind of Carcharodus. Nice shadow, too.Könnte ein Malven-Dickkopffalter (Carcharodus alceae) sein, oder eine andere Art Carcharodus. Auch ein interessanter Schatten.

A bit deeper into the abandoned orchard, there were some cactus colonies. I call them colonies, because in Greece, they grow like that. It seems, there is no endemic animal to spread the cactus seeds.Etwas weiter im verlassenen Hain gab es einige Kaktuskolonien. Nenne ich so, weil sie in Griechenland so wachsen. Anscheinend gibt es kein einheimisches Tier, das die Kaktussamen verbreitet.

But the cacti themselves grow very well there. & the occasional fruit kicked away by some human is probably enough to spread them around a bit. & there are definitely humans around once in a while:Die Kakteen selber gedeihen dort aber großartig. Die gelegentlich von Menschen fortgetretene Frucht reicht offenbar, um Verbreitung zu gewähren. & es sind definitiv ab & zu Menschen in der Gegend:

You can tell from the garbage they leave behind. In this case a toilet in the middle of nowhere.Man merkt es am überall herumliegenden Müll. In diesem Fall eine Toilette mitten im Nirgendwo.

A nice little grasshopper. Don't know which species, but probably from the genus Chorthippus.Netter kleiner Grashüpfer. Weiß nicht, welche Art, aber wahrscheinlich aus der Gattung Chorthippus.

& another grasshopper. Well, grasshopper... I'm not sure, but this could be some kind of groundhopper.& noch eine Heuschrecke. Bin nicht sicher, aber es könnte sich um eine Art Dornschrecke handeln.

Some nice lichen on a dead branch. Which looked very interesting, so I took out a macro extension tube.Hübsche Flechten auf einem toten Zweig. Sah interessant genug aus, den Einsatz eines Makro-Zwischenrings zu rechtfertigen.

Very nice. Wanted to use it as title photo, but because it's in portrait mode, you wouldn't be able to see it completely. This is probably common orange lichen (Xanthoria parietina).Sehr schön. Wollte dies als Titelbild benutzen, aber da es hochkant ist, könnte man es nicht komplett sehen. Es ist wohl die Gewöhnliche Gelbflechte (Xanthoria parietina).

Then there was this nice thistle, a close-up of which I used as title photo instead of the lichen.Dann war da noch diese Distel, deren Nahaufnahme ich statt der Flechte als Titelbild verwendete.

A different day with just some sunset pictures. But it was a really nice sunset, with a mellow orange. While I was waiting for the sun to set, I found an abandoned villa. Must have been quite nice in the day:Ein anderer Tag, nur mit einigen Sonnenuntergangsbildern. War aber einer der besseren Sonnenuntergänge, in mildem Orange. Während ich auf den eigentlichen Untergang wartete, fand ich eine verlassene Villa. War wohl mal ganz nett:

For some strange reason, there were these 2 lorries left in the yard, one of them Dutch.Aus irgendeinem Grunde hatte man auch 2 LKW im Hof stehenlassen, einer davon holländisch.

The building itself was severely delapidated. Not sure whether there is any hope for renovation. There were a number of abandoned villas at the Patras coast, but this was probably the one in the worst state.Das Gebäude selber war völlig heruntergekommen. Bin nicht sicher, ob es da noch was zu retten gibt. Es gab einige verlassene Villen an der Küste von Patras, aber diese war im schlechtesten Zustand.

The sunset meanwhile turned fully orange.Der Sonnenuntergang zeigte sich mittlerweile voll orange.

The north coast of the Gulf of Patras didn't get any of the orange, but showed some nice clouds.Die Nordküste des Golfs von Patras kriegte nix von dem Orange ab, aber dafür war die Wolkenlage nicht schlecht.

The sun was not disappearing behind the horizon, but behind some clouds. Still nice, though. Did I mention the totally quiet sea?Die Sonne verschwand nicht am Horizont, sondern hinter den Wolken. Trotzdem nicht schlecht. Erwähnte ich übrigens die totale Windstille?

& it's gone. But still a nice orange glow.& weg ist sie. Aber immer noch ein hübsches Orange.

After the sun was gone, there was not much more to see. Only this root caught my eye. Looks nice & shows at the same time nicely the big problem at Patras' coast: erosion.Nach dem Sonnenuntergang, gab es nicht viel mehr zu sehen. Nur diese Wurzel fiel mir ins Auge. Sieht interessant aus & zeigt gleichzeitig das große Problem an Patras' Küste: Erosion.

&, well, totally unrelated, my meal of the day. Need to show it, because I'm quite happy with it. Sauerbraten & red kraut. The first (& till now only) time I ever made my own red kraut. & that should be it for today. Now, just a few more pics:&, naja, völlig zusammenhanglos, mein Essen. Wird nur erwähnt, weil's mir so gut gelang. Sauerbraten & Rotkohl. Das erste (& einzige) Mal, daß ich mein eigenes Sauerkraut gemacht habe. & das soll's für heute gewesen sein. Jetzt nur noch ein paar Bilder:

I really liked the whole ride. I'm not much of an insect lover, but good hikes have a little bit of everything. What I liked the most was the sunset and the way you say goodbye to the post

I have seen several people who, in one output, store a lot of content that is good for several posts. I think wanting to capture the whole experience, as you do is not wrong. You could take advantage of that you note to highlight even more details. Then you can discard what you don't like.
