China’s Economy Is Burdened by Years of Excess.
"China’s rapid growth meant that for years forecasters expected China to overtake the U.S. as the world’s largest economy. As recently as 2019, some forecasters were expecting China’s GDP to eclipse the U.S.’s around 2030. Today, it is the U.S. powering the global economy and China that is battling stumbling growth. Few now expect China to catch up with the U.S. before midcentury, if it manages to at all."
--- Probably not. If emperor Xi stays in power long enough, definitely not. Then China may be overtaken by India in the next couple of decades.
China punishes dozens of U.S. companies, including 10 for arms sales to Taiwan
"China's Ministry of Commerce Thursday targeted dozens of American companies for punitive trade actions as U.S.-China tensions increase. The ministry added also 10 U.S. companies to its unreliable entities list, sanctioning them for arms sales to Taiwan.
China's Commerce Ministry said it added 28 countries to an export-control list over national security concerns.
According to Chinese state media Xinhua citing the ministry, the companies include Lockheed Martin's Missiles and Fire Control, Lockheed Martin Aeronautics and Lockheed Martin Missile System Integration Lab.
Other targeted companies included Raytheon Missile Systems and Boeing Defense."
--- Note how it is Boeing Defense, but not Boeing in general. Because China needs Boeing airplanes as competition for Airbus.
So, China does not really punish any US company, for virtually all the companies on the list don't do business in China.
US mulls new restrictions on Chinese drones
"The decision on new rules will fall to the incoming administration of President-elect Donald Trump."
--- One of the first tests to show where the Trump government will stand in regards to China.
"The latest effort could lead to restrictions or bans involving Chinese drones -- a market that China dominates."
--- Hmm, I would be surprised if any other country would dominate the market of Chinese drones.
China proposes further export curbs on battery, critical minerals tech
"Depending on their severity, the proposed restrictions on technology used to process lithium or prepare battery components could hinder the overseas expansion plans of major Chinese battery makers, including CATL, Gotion and EVE Energy."
--- Seems like emperor Xi is really not keen on Chinese companies producing abroad.
