Say no more about NFTs Non-Fungible Tokens, it is just outrageous what the price tag could be for any NFTs.
NFT projects could make one feel like a lot has been missed because when you hear the price that a punk has been sold, you'd certainly be left dumbfounded.

In 2017, cryptopunks were developed by Larva Labs.
There are 10,000 cryptopunks (unique collectible characters) ever created under ethereum blockchain, ERC-20.
The least price for cryptopunks is at 71.99 ETH ($208,431.93 USD).

Cryptopunks #5822 was bought by Deepak Thapliyal, the CEO of blockchain infrastructure company, Chain at 8,000 ETH worth $23.7 million yesterday, Saturday.
Deepak Thayliyal posted his cryptopunk on his twitter account.

According to larvalabs website, cryptopunk #3100 and #7804 worth 4,200 ETH ($7.58 million and $7.57 million respectively)
One thing is certain, the price of the cryptosphere is volatile so prices of etherum has been on different prices at different times
The most circulated amount paid for cryptopunk #7523 was $11.75 million, although I couldn't get how much ETH was paid for it.
Cryptopunk #7523 was sold by Sotheby auction house last year. The punk #7523 was tagged the covid punk because it wore a facemask.

It's actually cool to note at this point that hive ecosystem has its own punks and certainly, hivepunks would be reckoned as one of the punks that would be known by all.
I certainly can't expect less in the coming future.

complete insanity, this will not end well… 8000 ETH for that? Eventually nobody will want to buy it higher anymore, and the the shit will hit the fan.

I was dumbfounded at first but went to the cyrptopunk website and saw their record and knew at once how outrageous it was getting.

8000 ETH for that, it was previously 4.2k for that.
No one can tell what next.

You are 100% right, it is complete insanity and makes no sense. These guys are obviously just money laundering or buying their own artwork to give it an expensive price history and entice suckers to buy it for real.

It does not matter what blockchain they are on, all of these pixelated jpeg NFTs selling for millions are all a sham, even here on HIVE. It's a real shame too, because NFTs CAN indeed be useful, especially for cross-game virtual items, or real life proof of ownership or club membership/tickets. But the market has decided to squander it on this childish nonsense, that only serves to hurt the reputation of crypto and make it look like a joke.

I am glad you understand though, I feel like there are very few of us that are living in reality here!
