OpenSea NFT Hack Labelled A Phishing Attack
It's quite too soon to always be record a loss of assets, it's just always being recorded week in and week out about an exploit that has taken place in an exchange, blockchain.
The year 2022 is just a sad one apparently for a lot that have lost their assets by hackers who just steal from the labour of others.
Who wouldn't know of Opensea, the biggest marketplace for NFTs, well if you didn't know Opensea is the no.1 marketplace to get any type of Non-Fungible Tokens NFTs that you need.
It's just sad to see that Opensea had been hit again for the second time this year.
On the 24th of January 2022, Elliptic reported that hackers exploited a bug in Opensea selling NFTs far below their market value leading to $1.1 million loss.
Opensea later reimbursed owners of the NFTs sold.
Opensea has been targeted again in which collectors lose millions worth of NFTs which only brings J Cole's lyrics to mind, *fool me one time shame on you, fool me two times shame on me.
It's certainly less than a month when OpenSea has been attacked and yet another reoccurred and the co-founder and CEO Devin Finzer tweeted that it's a phishing attack.
Truth is being at the top keeps one as a prey and that's why security system has to be tightened. Phishing attack means that it has nothing to do with their system but with users clicking on links through emails that wasn't from OpenSea.
It's very saddening that it happened again with OpenSea and truly if it's actually a phishing attack, individuals should sure be aware of what goes down in the digital world.
Actually 32 OpenSea collectors were affected by the supposedly Phishing attack in which Bored Ape Yacht Club, Azuki, Farm Land were affected.
The hackers account holds $1.7 million worth of ethereum.
Coming to mind again is everyday for the thief and one day for the owner.
I even got a phishing message yesterday on as a comment on my yesterday's post, it was just too good to be true taking that first look.
In as much as its super cool to be in the cryptosphere it well important to be aware of ways to loss your asset in a blink of an eye.
Always keep your eyes open and beware of what you click.
These are not happy times, in as much as users want to grow is also the way hackers want to grow also...
Thank you for visiting my blog, till next time.
