Encountering A Friend in the Forest! (ENG-ESP)
The mural in our city had recently transformed, most likely in an effort to keep up with the changing seasons.
Although I must say, whatta lovely winter we are having this spring 😄 For weeks we had heard that we should anticipate an early spring, with temperatures as high as 18 degrees Celsius! Yet here we are in the third week of March, and it has been snowing on and off 😅
So we took it as a sign to venture out into the forest once again! Our little girls love the great outdoors. If we try to keep them stuffed up in the house, we are bombarded with endless shrieking fits 😩 Again the temperature wasn't ideal, but we braved against the elements anyway.
This spot -- this rock -- was quite nostalgic... For it wasn't but 2 years ago that we stopped at this very same rock to take a picture with our oldest daughter. Only now she has a little sister to celebrate with 🥰
(When our oldest daughter was only 7-months-old 🥺)
(Cuando nuestra hija mayor tenía solo 7 meses 🥺)
We stopped at a waterfall that we are also familiar with. I believe it was around the same time that our oldest was only several months old that we decided to do a photoshoot here. I suppose you could say I am grateful to live in the body that I'm in; this is what I looked like several months after giving birth! 😄
Our oldest daughter had a great time running wild on the trail 😄 One of those moments where I had to stop and reflect on how far she has come. Every day she seems to be talking a little bit more, and her baby sister grows more and more infatuated with her 🥰
We also encountered this little guy -- a Red Squirrel -- while we were out there! Typically our Canadian squirrels are black, brown, or grey; not ginger. Needless to say it is a privilege to stumble upon one, as they're quite skittish.
However this one was different. He caught sight of me -- he saw me catch sight of him -- yet he simply wandered along beside us. Eventually he came across a nut of some variety. My husband was able to capture this photo before he took off 🐿️
