A Family Walk Through the Woods
Spring is finally approaching us here in Canada π¨π¦ The cold nip of winter is on its way out, greenery is starting to appear, the sun is shining again, and I've been more motivated than ever to get out and enjoy the day! We recently took advantage of the nicer weather by going for a family walk in the forest.
I don't know about where others are in different parts of the world, but here we've been noticing some strange climate changes. This year we received a very mild winter but regardless of this, we have already been noticing plant and floral life making its appearance! In 0 (zero) degree Celsius weather we have seen tulips already beginning to grow! π·π·
So here you may see an example of it. Evergreen trees will always stay green (hence the name π), but even these tiny stringy trees have been budding early. I'm not entirely sure but I believe they are a type of Birch tree? Needless to say, things will be blooming early this year.
Or take a look at this one! We came to an area where some grass and shrubs are sprouting but I have never seen anything quite like it -- we came to a literal crosswords. Can you see the thin tree in the middle that splits the path in two, the juxtaposition between the left and right sides? The left side seems to be full of life and vibrancy, while the right side is barren.
Which path would you choose?
We came across a few teepees in the forest. Not anything too spectacular; they're a common occurrence and are usually just made by teenagers playing in the woods (or, every once and awhile, a squatter). Still, a lot of time and effort is required to make them so it isn't something that should go unnoticed!
Also came across a few patches of moss and fungi! π I'm a sucker for mushrooms π Hardly any of them are edible, in fact quite the opposite; most wild mushrooms are extremely poisonous and even fatal. You shouldn't even touch them (no matter how much you may want to... π€€)
Eventually we stumbled upon an open area with a huge tree in the middle. The tree alone was something to behold: it was cracked, split right down the middle so that you could stand in the tree! Again we used the opportunity for a lovely photoshoot π₯°
This is our oldest daughter posing for her daddy.
Our youngest daughter, peeking out from where the tree is split.
Very excited to start spending more time out in nature again! Especially now that our youngest daughter will just begin to start walking, it will be a wonderful opportunity for all of us to go hiking and exploring!
Congratulations, your post has been added to Pinmapple! ππ₯³π
