Rage Against The Machine - Killing In The Name

Going through my list of videos of live performances and concerts saved on YouTube, it occurred to me to see which would be the first of them, and it turned out to be this one by Rage Against The Machine, which surprised me a bit because I don't consider myself a diehard fan of them, as I am of other bands like Pink Floyd or Radiohead.
However, when I saw it again it became clear to me why I started my playlist of live performances with that video, they are simply electrifying, and although they have several epic songs, this one is practically an anthem and a declaration of intentions by this band that fortunately is together again, and hopefully will be for a long time.
Revisando mi lista de videos de presentaciones en vivo y conciertos guardados en YouTube, se me ocurrió ver cual sería el primero de ellos, y resultó ser este de Rage Against The Machine, lo que me sorprendió un poco porque no me considero un fan acérrimo de ellos, como si lo soy de otras bandas como Pink Floyd o Radiohead.
Sin embargo al verlo de nuevo me quedo claro porque con ese video inicie mi playlist de presentaciones en vivo, sencillamente son electrizantes, y si bien tiene varios temas épicos, este es prácticamente un himno y una declaración de intenciones por parte de esta banda que afortunadamente esta junta de nuevo, y ojalá lo esté por mucho tiempo.

Another of the first videos I have saved is this one of the first big hit of Massive Attack, the English band that pioneered trip-hop, a trend they inaugurated and which was later joined by other bands that have also become iconic, and like them are still active.
The interesting thing about this version is that it sounds, from my point of view, better than the original. The presence of the guitar is much stronger, and the arrangement in general, being an extended version of the original song, is very enjoyable and allows some sounds that go somewhat unnoticed on the album, to shine more brightly here.
Otro de los primeros videos que tengo guardado es este del primer gran hit de Massive Attack, la banda inglesa pionera del trip-hop, corriente que inauguraron y a la que se unieron luego otras bandas que se han vuelto también icónicas, y como ellos siguen en activo.
Lo interesante de esta versión es que se escucha, desde mi punto de vista, mejor que la original. La guitarra tiene mucha más fuerza, y el arreglo en general, al ser una versión extendida del tema original, se disfruta muchísimo y permite que algunos sonidos que pasan un tanto desaparecibidos en el disco, aquí brillen más.

There are bands that disappoint live, while others sound much better than on record, and Faithless is one of them, and it is something that they themselves recognize; their thing is to play live. In fact, one of their eternal battles is how they manage to be heard on record as they are heard live, as strange as that may seem.
I always prefer to see their concerts rather than listen to their albums, and my favorite is the one they recorded live. This song is a proof of what the concerts of this English electronic music group can be, an explosion of energy and vitality. Enjoy it.
Hay bandas que en vivo decepcionan, mientras que otras se escuchan mujo mejor que en los discos, y Faithless es una de ellas, y es algo que ellos mismo reconocen; lo suyo es tocar en vivo. De hecho una de sus eternas batallas es como logra escucharse en el disco como se escuchan en vivo, por extraño que eso parezca.
Yo prefiero siempre ver sus conciertos antes que escuchar sus discos, y mi favorito es el que grabaron en vivo. Esta canción es una prueba de lo que pueden ser los conciertos de esta agrupación inglesa de música electrónica, una explosión de energía y vitalidad. Que lo disfruten.

En el mundo del jazz pocos tienen un estilo tan rebelde e inconfundible como el de Jamie Cullum. Quien fuera considerado por mucho, debido a su edad y su actitud frente al jazz, el 'enfant terrible' del género, ha madura con los años, tanto en actitud como en calidad, y se ha vuelto un músico con una trayectoria reconocida y respetada por todos.
Su música sigue teniendo la particular dualidad de ser apreciada tanto por los amantes del jazz y como los del pop, sin que ninguno de ellos se sienta traicionado, y eso se le permite moverse como pez en el agua en ambos mundos y tener acceso a un público enorme. Este tema es prueba de su innegable talento y conexión con la audiencia.
