The Visual Monomad Photographic Challenge My Entry #407 ~ Portrait of Rohingya refugees behind the window
Hello my friends..
As usual, on the daily monomad Challenge I want to contribute my entry for the Challenge And this is the entry for the Monomad Challenge this time.
Every conflict or dispute in a place will definitely have an impact on the lives of the victims. Aceh, as one of the provinces in Indonesia, has experienced a prolonged conflict between government troops and resistance groups. The conflict that lasted for approximately 32 years resulted in many innocent civilians becoming victims.
A similar thing also happened to the Rohingya ethnic group in Myanmar. They were forced to flee due to the conflict in their country. To save themselves, many of them took a dangerous sea journey to neighboring countries. Unfortunately, the boats they were on were often damaged, so many were stranded in various areas, including in the waters of Aceh.
Because they had experienced a similar experience, Aceh openly accepted the arrival of Rohingya refugees and provided temporary shelters. Currently, the number of Rohingya refugees in Aceh has reached more than 300 people. However, they have not been allowed to leave the shelter. As a result, they can only interact with local residents through the window.
Thus is a brief description of the situation of Rohingya refugees in Aceh. Hopefully this article can provide a little information for all of us. Thank you
This is my entry for the #monomad challenge contest, hosted and curated by @monochromes.
