Bronze League Battle - How to Win Using Enrage
Getting Good
For a new player to get good at this game one thing is critical and that is to study the winning battles of some of the better players in the game. I really enjoy reading about the thought process and battle strategy from top players and so in that spirit I wanted to show a strategy that worked for me in a recent top 20 bronze league battle.
This post was inspired from a series by fellow battle mage @felipejoys who writes in detail about top battles I would encourage you have a read through his blog
Spreading Fury Ruleset
First thing I do before I decide on my team is to look at the battle rule set. This one is all monsters have the enrage ability, well what does that do?
Monsters have increased melee attack and speed when damaged.
So I want to think about playing high speed melee team, so with that in mind this is the team I picked, remember this is for a bronze level battle.
- Summoner: Kelya Frendul
- tank and key monster: Serpent of Eld
- support 1 Torrent Fiend
- fast sneak: Sabre Shark
- Magic Damage: Ruler of the Sea
- spare slot: Furious Chicken
Opposition Team
If you're thinking that I am just posting an easy win over a week level 1 team, look again my opponent @juanello88 is ranked higher than me on the bronze ladder ( Number 4 at the time) and a serious bronze player.
He goes with a melee inspired (plus 1 melee attack) sneak team and a summoner to reduce magic damage, I must admit that I didn't see that coming, all his monsters were at max level for bronze, I also like how he combined his tank card that has void with the summoner reducing magic, so if my team was all magic I would end up striking air.
Battle Progress
I just wanted to pause the match and get you to look at the image, I am staring down an almost full team of melee heavy hitters down to my last monsters and he has:
Only 3 health Points left - Certain Death
But a damaged monster means the match rules are active and he get enraged, so what you a looking at is a serpent of Eld with 8 speed 5 melee and the dodge ability (Has an increased chance of evading Melee or Ranged attacks.)
In Other words Practically UN-Hittable

Your Strategy Takeaway Lesson
Now you know what happens, if you don't click the link above a watch the match, you won't be disappointed.
- Make sure you take note of the Ruleset
- Pick a team that will complement the rule set
- Alway's balance you attack, add melee, magic and range if possible
- Select your summoner to complement your team
The summoner will increase my speed on an already fast monster, the rule set will increase speed when damaged, also the rule set will increase melee damage on an already high melee damage monster, this will make my hero card very overpowered in this match.
Notice Point 3 above if my opponent had a magic dealing monster, it could have a different ending as magic damage will not miss (unless you have the phase ability)
Almost as satisfying as watch trample damage demolish a team in the stampede rule set, being on a few receiving ends of similar battles I know how gut wrenching it is when your shots keep missing. Until next time, please comment if you found this useful and if you have any other strategies you would like to explore.
