WHEN WORK GETS IN THE WAY
Combining work, crochet and hive won't be so hard or so I thought. When I got my job back a few months ago, I was skeptical about going back but still delighted. I loved my job before quitting, so going back to the job wasn't the worst thing I could do at the time.
Before then I was active on hive and I loved it. It opened me to a world I didn't know existed and I was happy to be a part of the community. So, of course, there was no way I was going to stop just because I got my job back.
Then there's crochet - the literal love of my life. @nonsowrites don't come for me. Since I started crocheting it has become a very important part of my life. It was a hobby that turned into a business. Although I don't take crochet orders as much as I used to, that's not going to stop me from creating new things.
I am content with my life revolving around these three things. So far, I feel content with the way my life is going. Nevertheless, it does get really hard to keep up sometimes. I do love my job but some times I just want to take a break from work and do other meaningful things with my life.
It feels overwhelming keeping up with everything. Work is taking more of my time than I want it to, it is basically what's stresses me out the most. You know sometimes I wonder why we have to live through life like this–grow into adulthood and work for the most of your life. if you're lucky enough then you retire early and live the rest of your life trying to catch up with the years you've missed. Sometimes I wonder what's the point of life.
Anyway, it gets exhausting combining 3 things kudos to those who can manage 3 or more things daily. Sometimes my brain completely goes blank and that's where music comes in. I have a playlist for when I was to listen to something soothing and let my mind wander.
I miss really engaging in the community. I miss catching up with a lot of people on hive. My daily life gets exhausting but I feel like it will get better over time and I'll get better at managing my time - I hope.
Thanks for stopping by ❤️
Being able to combine it all still makes you a boss. I have just a job but its really draining me and I also find it difficult to multi task. I always wonder how people like you do it. I hope I learn soon.
Sometimes one job takes up all the time that 3 jobs do, so even those who do just 1 can be doing more than people who do 3. I get you.

Hi blezyn,

Music! A loyal friend. Music helps me take my mind off things too. Especially when I'm stressed after a busy day. I'm currently stretched quite thin as medical school itself is like 3 things together. And I'm still combining it with music, writing, and now hive. It gets very hard on some days but we keep pushing.
May it all be worth it in the end
It can't be easy combining medical school with music and hive. How do you manage them?
Habit stacking is one thing I do sometimes. I learned it from a book- Atomic Habits by James Clear. I would highly recommend the book for anyone to read. So essentially, I write out my activities and try to figure out which ones I can do simultaneously such that at any given time, I'm doing about 2 things at the same time. Takes time and practice but it gets better. And some activities just can't be combined with any other thing. Like now, I'm checking out this platform while also eating. As opposed to allocating separate times to each of them. I think I need to read the book again tho. It's been a while. I think you should too
Sometimes I feel like if you focus on 2 things at a time one gets more attention and the other is lacking. Doesn't it happen like that for you?
Well, maybe. That's why you can combine an activity that requires more attention with another activity that doesn't require much attention. Like, eating and blogging. You basically don't have to think to eat. It's kind of a reflex at this point in our lives. You're combining it with blogging that requires more attention. And you're doing both within the same timeframe. That's just an example.
You can read the book for more clarification. I can't remember much from it myself, and I feel like I need it now more than ever
You're right. Thanks a lot
And here is blexn, one of my village people lols😃...not what you're thinking dear. I didn't forget we're from the same town.
Time management is key... I wouldn't say you've not been trying your best to fix this. I know you can do better and don't be too hard on yourself ,all will definitely be fine soon even as you figure out a way around it.
😂😂 my village people find me reach here.
I hope so too. Thank you!
I feel your struggle dear. Know I am here to help out if you need me. I should figure out something we can do today on hive that's fun. ❤
Thanks love, you help more than you know.
Do tell😁
we will talk about it during the week...you might need to get a desk at home and a ring light.
At times like this, I think one just has to switch to the mode of multitasking. Might not be easy but its a line one has to toe . I’m sure you love your job , hive and crochet works , it will be so hard forgoing one for another so you just have to decide a possible way to juggle these three things. I’m sure you’ll find your way around this eventually.. All the very best! Cheers!!
Yeah. It works better when I allocate time to each activity. Although translating those theoretical arrangements into reality doesn't always work as planned. I hope it gets better tho.
Thanks for your comment!
Pele...It's great you love the things you do even if some takes more of your time than others. Hopefully, you get to manage your time better soon enough.
I hope so too.
Thank you!
