CROCHET STAR HALTER TOP

Hello everyone, welcome to a new week. Today I am sharing a crochet piece I made over the weekend for a client. My favorite things to make are tops, mostly because they are easy to make and I do not have to do so many calculations as I would if it were a skirt or shorts, which is the reason I get to finish them faster. I am currently making one(not the same as this) for myself that is proving difficult, I have left it aside for now and will be going back tonight to try again.

This top, however, is simple and interesting to make. Also, I think the color does a great job of making it look pretty. I always use a 3.5mm hook for all of my tops, so that is what I used for this halter top.

This pattern is similar to a halter top I made some time ago, the difference is the design around the chest area. This one is shaped like a star. To begin I made a magic circle and did a total of 8 double crochets separated by chain 3 spaces. For the next row, I inserted 5 double crochets in every chain 3 space to give a total of 40 double crochets. In the next row, I split them into 5 which is 5 sets of 8 double crochet separated by a chain 3 space.

For the next 4 rows, I reduced each set by 2 while increasing the chain to 3 spaces i.e. row 4 had 5 sets of 6 double crochets, row 5 had 5 sets of 4 double crochet, and so on.

When I was done with that I had to do the body area and for that, I worked on only 3 corners and inserted 5 double crochets in every chain 3 space available. In the exact middle, I did a chain 2 before moving on.

I did this till I had the length required and since It comes in a V shape, I have to fill in the sides which is what I did, working first with one corner before moving to the next corner. After filling both corners, I did the edging to make everything look neat and then worked the straps.

With that my Star Halter top is ready. Here’s the final result, I hope you like it.

As always wonderful work. I love the lace panel in the middle and the subtile lace at the border. The top looks elegant and stylish <3 Because of you I am constantly lusting after crochet at the moment m´but am to indecisive what to make :-DDD I want to try out the jacket you made (the hexagon one) but I am also pondering to try this design:

This makes me so happy♥️♥️ Thank you!

I would love to see you make the hexagon jacket. However, if I were to pick between the peplum and wrap cardigan. I would go with the peplum cardigan. Something is soothing about the little flowers she added but I would love to see the design you decide to create.

You're an artist @blezyn! That top was so cute on you. And you say you did it over the weekend? Wow, I take my hat off to you. I like almost all manual work and throughout my life I have crocheted several things, but not at your level. Congratulations 🎉!

Awww! This is really beautiful. I've always wanted to learn how to knit. One time I bought all the tools and actually started but I can't even remember what happened or why I stopped. I wish I can learn how to knit again. It will be beautiful knitting small cute cardigans for my babies.

Thank you so much. If you ever decide to go back to knitting I would suggest you start with small projects, then get accustomed to it. You'll love it.
