Hello Hive! Greetings to the needlework community. Hope you are all doing great. Today I bring to you my most recent crochet piece - a beautiful baby dress. The inspiration for this baby dress was the need to make something for my lovely god-daughter.

I have been wanting to make something for her but keep pushing it for reasons I do not know. However, I finally decided to settle down and make the dress. I saw the pattern for the dress on @accrochet on Instagram. The difference between mine and hers is the bow I added to mine.

So, making this dress was pretty easy and straightforward. I worked with general measurement for a child 6-12 months since I do not have her measurements with me. I started with the top part of the dress. The width was altogether 18, each piece i.e. the front and back piece each is 9 inches.

After making both pieces, I joined the sides but left enough space for the armhole. Then proceeded to do a ruffle around both armholes. Then I went ahead and made the ruffles around the waist area. Since I can’t tell her the full length, I just kept repeating the pattern till a voice in my head told me to stop.

When I was done with the dress, it looked beautiful but felt too plain. So, I decided to make a couple of bows and add them to the front. I was satisfied with how the dress looked after adding the bows.

Still, I wanted to add some other accessories to the dress. The next best thing was to make a hairband to match with the dress, which is exactly what I did. I also added a bow to the band for special effects I guess.

I also added crochet baby boots to complete the outfit. One thing I learned from making the boots is that to make them look really good it's best to use Worsted or Aran weight yarn to make them firm.

This is my first time making anything baby-related and I am pleased with how it all came out. I hope it fits her and she loves it too.

Now you make me wish I have a baby girl. I often felt crocheting was about making square and then stitching them up together for the dress.
I just wander how you measure the spacing and form the whole dress and once.

Not to think of the socks and all its curves.

Hahaha, when you do have a baby girl I'm sure you'll sew many lovely dresses for her.

My sear I've seen people get really creative with crochet. It's very versatile.

Thanks for your comment sis

This set is really beautiful. That baby will be very flirtatious with her clothes. You did a great job with those bow details, it was good before, but after that it was better. Congrats 💕.

This is really lovely. This would cost quite a lot if it were to be for sale. You did a great job 👍🏾

Thanks a lot.

I think the price will be reasonable. If I were to price it, it should be around $25-$30
