What's New With Hive and Goals 6/16

Each week I like to do a write up about the new things going on with the hive blockchain. This will range from price action or application updates that are note worthy. If there's a lack of updates I often times will go over my own goals which is a way to hold myself accountable but also to show others what is possible when you are active and build strong connections and take the time here on the hive blockchain writing quality.

Hives Price Action

It's been a rocky week for crypto in general. With GME and meme coins getting a lot of buzz and then a hard sell off we find ourselves seeming many alt coins down again.

The price action has been weak all week long pushing hive at some rather low lows at the moment. Many people are saying that hive has a strong support line at $0.25 but I'm going to be brutally honest here that I don't see it. Hive need some serious work and a reduction in expenses which seems like it's never going to happen at this rate.

The crazy expenses happening with little to show for it, no ad revenue or revenue generation since it's a feeless blockchain and the inability to focus on development over marketing besides post content and make money blockchain is causing havoc on the price. Personally I'm seeing hive fall under $0.25 at some point.

Besides that there's really not any updates again for hive. There's simply a large lack of development as of late and I also feel like that's because of the negative price action of hive. Why would developers want to invest time and energy into something that continues to fall in price is most likely the mentality.

Goals

$HIVE

Goal: 250,000 Current: 110,100

week over week we increased by a good amount. With hive prices falling it often means a higher payout in hive as other users become less active there's less content to be voted on and rewards to go around. We pushed a total of 402 hive last week which is a good increase. That means 57.42 hive per day was powered up brining us even closer to that 100 a day first goal.

HBD

Goal: 182,500 Current: 4,384.47

A small increase week over week pushing us to adding another 40.70 HBD last week. Now this number will most likely go down as the dollar value is being reduced heavily at the moment because of the negative pressure on hive. We still managed to squeak away with a small increase week over week of about 8.5 HBD.

$LEO

Goal: 150,000 Current: 139,154

Week over week again we had a small increase. This increase was about 1 more level per day. All in all we pulled in 457 LEO or roughly 65 LEO per day. This is a higher mark now mainly because I now am staking all of the hive delegation that I'm currently doing. This puts us well on our goal to 150,000 by end of year. However after this 150,000 I'm honestly thinking my target is going to be 1 million LEO from what I hear there is only 50 million to be generated so owning a million means only 50 other people could own a million.

Now I do also have LEO in pools as well so we are actully much closer to this goal then I think but I simply don't factor in the pools here because they jump all over.

Splinterlands

Splinterlands has been battling it out lately in terms of price. SPS has now fallen under 1 cent and I do believe some of that has to do with the falling Hive price etc as it seems pretty heavily tied to it.

My goal is still 1 million SPS and these lower prices actully simply make it easier to reach those goals.

Other Goals

I also have a bunch of odd and end smaller goals as ways I simply want to help hive and applications on it. I'll give a quick rundown of those.

Splinterlands - all 100 of my own plots running with the potential of 142 total plots. I may even buy up some new plots being that they are rather cheap.

WOO - I'm not exactly sure what's going on with this game. There's been a ton of marketing but I feel like we don't get many game updates at all as to when we can play it. That being said prices are WAY down of which my goal is 1 million WOO 500k normally staked and then 500k in the liquidity pool. If anyone has updates on this I'd love to hear.

Soulkeep - From what I'm hearing soulkeep should be launching this week. However it's going to be missing a lot of the splinterlands connections such as card staking and SPS which worries me a bit now if we will ever see that happen. That was pretty much the primary reason people were going to play the game and wanted to play it.

Outside of that I've been building rapidly outside of Hive as well. I know, I know but if you keep your eggs all in one basket you're going to end up screwing yourself. I might have updates on this in a few weeks as I've found some new web3 social platforms that look promising.

I think you've hit the nail on the head, people come to chains for NGU and can end up staying. With the messy tokenomics, Hive is an unattractive investment. The DAO has mostly squandered money with only a few projects delivering and the anchor around Hive's neck is HBD which is a train that can't be stopped now until it crashes Hive. Hopefully I'm wrong and the bull run will turn things around.

I agree brother, the lack of development and focus on marketing is really hurting Hive. It’s tough to see potential wasted like this. Fingers crossed for some positive changes soon. I'm going to keep my head up and keep building both HP and the quality of my engagement

It's hard to imagine Hive will recover as things are. As you say in the post, they throw away tons of money on nothing, do almost no development (that we can see or are informed about), and we have all these power-mad orcas who get their jollies by downvoting the few new users we have and chasing them away. If the bull run ever comes then it might pull Hive with it, but without any improvement here, it will fall to this level or below again as soon as the bull run is over.
