What's New At Hive Year End Edition
In just a few hours a new year will be a thing! 2024 isn't far away now and I'd have to say I'm rather hopeful for how 2024 will turn out on the crypto front. Maybe not so much on the ETF front and bull market front but overall the investments and actions I've taken over the years I feel like I'm going to be in a rather good spot come 2024.
That being said let's take a look at what's new with the hive blockchain this week and then dive into a few things I'm excited to see come live in 2024.
What's New On Hive
Overall we didn't have any big updates again this week which should be expected being that it's the holiday season. I expect next week to be a little slow as well and no real big updates until we get into the second week of the new year.
What few updates we do have this week are mainly setting us up for what's to come in 2024. So let's dive into that section right away and start seeing the actions we can expect in 2024.
Coming 2024
InLEO - This might be the biggest update that I've been waiting for for the last 2+ years now. FINALLY leoads should be paying out a monthly APY on staked LEO tokens based on ad performance and buy backs each week. This first ever report and payout should be happen on Jan 1st 2024 and I'm eager to finally see it in action and what kind of payout we might expect.
Last I checked and we ran numbers the APY should have been 10%+ which is actully pretty decent if that were to be the case. I'd be earning an ok amount of LEO and dollar value each day to start to justify time spent here again.
Splinterlands is set forth to break some new records and features which I'm greatly looking forward to. With new development happening in the game especially land 1.5 we have seen the SPS price climb again from it's all time lows of just $0.014 to a todays level of $0.036 an over 100% gain!
The next phases of land should be releasing 1.6 if not 2.0 in the first month of 2024 which will open up massive amounts of new demand in various areas. New liquidity pools, more demand for land, increased amounts of resources produced by land sparking more competition.
There's also a number of other games I'm looking forward to such as Holozing which has been proving to have some nice updates and interesting gameplay. We also have new updates coming from games like DCrops and Terracore has been doing some pretty cool updates and the coming soon features with planets, quests and colonies looks like a cool improvement. Overall we should see a lot of new and improved game developments on hive come 2024 including some much needed improvements and new liquidity.
Outside of that we also have VSC which we should have before summer. This should user in all new applications and a layer two style token via smart contracts. This system should prove to be rather useful for future developments on the hive blockchain. As long as we get developers to build on it which is where I'm hopeful DHF funds will be used for in 2024. The more hive I stake the more say in this I have.

Leoads paying could be huge!
Hive... I'd like to say $3, but I think just $1 is more likely. There is so much hype around the halving—too much hype. I feel like anything with this much hype is bound to disappoint and have the opposite reaction. So I feel like the bull run may be a bit further off than most of us are hoping.
That said, I am hopeful, and even more hopeful for being proved wrong!
oh yeah the halving on bitcoin is already priced in has been for a few months now and now a lot of it is hyped up speculation on the approval of a ETF.
