It's almost the new year! Big plan? Party? For myself I normally have something to do but this year I'm going to take it easy. I guess I'm getting old out here and would rather just relax and bring in the new year with a small amount of family and friends instead of getting into that mess.

For me the new year is a great time to rethink and reset some goals. To reflect on how last year went. The wins, the losses and the struggles. Was I able to reach my goals?

For Hive I was able to hit a lot of new milestones. One of them was to reach 100,000 Hive which I accomplished and then some. For LEO I fell a bit short of my 150,000 goal but I know I'll hit it next year for sure as I'm not far from it and it seems like LeoAd buyback APY will be hitting come Jan 1st (I'm crossing my fingers on this one big time as it's WAY overdue) This should greatly advance me towards my goal early into the new year.

New Goals

A new goal of mine is to now get away from numbers of staked hive etc and start focusing on to other areas. Those areas are building wealth, passive revenue streams and helping the hive ecosystem overall.

One of the first things I'll be doing in the early new year is setting up nodes. The first two nodes I'll be doing are Hive-Engine since that's been crazy spotty lately. The other is a hive node itself. I don't expect to be profitable on these at least not at first but it's a way to start integrating myself more into this blockchain and help out in other ways.

From there as I learn the nodes better I'll be expanding it into 3speak (mainly an encoder via this current hardware as I'll be rebuilding my core machine some time summer of 2024 that means I'll have a decently robust encoder machine around that time just sitting around so we mid as well put it to work!

I'll also be running a SPS node later on in the year. I'll be picking one up soon as long as prices seem right as I don't think nodes there are going to play a part any time soon it feels very on the backburner compared to everything else right now.

Another area would be VCS node which I believe that should be going live within the first few months of the year.

That means by the end of 2024 I should have a total of..

1x Hive node
1x Hive Engine node
1x 3speak (possible expanding this to more nodes since you can run different types)
1x SPS node
1x VCS node

A total of 5 nodes running which is a rather larger undertaking I think but a great way to help the stability of the network, learn and better contribute to hive overall.

Outside of all of that I also want to launch my own token. But I want to do it in a smart way and for sure it wont go into affect until most likely the end of 2024. The main reason is I want to see what options VCS is going to have over hive-engine for running a possible layer two token.

All the while we are going to simply keep stacking hive and also HBD. HBD my ultimate goal would be 182,500 HBD by end of year 2024 which would amount to 100HBD per day as long as APR rates held up. However I don't think they will and honestly as I look around and see more and more exchanges shutting down it worries me about the liquidity of even being able to extract that much HBD if I should need to.
