The Next Evolution For Hive

Many say including myself that Hive is ahead of it's time. It's most likely what has made adoption hard because it's brand new to people. Something that doesn't just click and requires a bit of learning from the tradition mainstream crypto projects. That being said it's quickly becoming apparent that this ahead of the game curve is closing fast with new projects and applications launching weekly and moving towards daily for other blockchain and crypto projects.

The Next Step

With the next hard fork soon here there will be some changes in terms of how resources are used on the chain. That's when current applications will most likely restructure how things are done on chain a bit but should also open up an easier way for more devs to come in and build on the chain.

Use cases are going to become very important to hive as it rolls away from just long form blog posts and starts to incorporate other things.

We already have...

  1. Blogging
  2. Video
  3. Play2earn
  4. Beta LeoThreads

That should hopefully expand even more. There was a push for hive play2earn games but many of those seem to either packed up for another blockchain or pretty much died out. That begs the question is there just not enough demand on hive for these things such as the userbase or is coding on hive too complicated or too little information? That I'm unsure of and it could be the combination of those.

What's clear however is that Hive needs more devs and more applications using it asap otherwise the ahead of the times is quickly going to become the behind the times for the hive blockchain.

This is why I strongly support 2nd layer tokens such as LEO who continue to develop, improve and create. Sure not every project will be a home run in fact in business 9 out of 10 times you will fail and it's just part of the process.

It also is why I highly support projects such as Splinterlands that continue to grow and on board thousands of people to the hive blockchain. To be fair we owe a lot to these two platforms for brining new users in. Yes there are a few other front ends that are doing great work as well but they are solely focused on the blogging front end and that's it. Blogging is only going to attract a small subset of the worlds population while things like games, twitter like products, liketu for Instagram style etc are going to expand the userbase outside of just those few who blog on a regular basis.

What's clear is that web3 and decentralization are going to be extremely important factors of the next evolution of the web. I believe this evolution will return value back to content creators and users who are the ones that support these application. The options are endless for the possibilities for hive but we have got to have the development and teams building on top of it for it to show it's true colors.

If you're a developer what currently holds you back from development on hive? Or if you are a developer and looking to build something on hive reach out I'm looking forward to more production.

I'm with you on that, having getting new developers excited about building on Hive is the next step. And it can be done. I feel like it's been shown that the community gets behind great projects built on hive, and that you can also think outside the box and build some pretty cool stuff using Hive and other technologies as well.

Not a developer, but I feel like Hive would be a great place to build projects as a developer. This is one of the greatest truly decentralized communities that there is in crypto.

I think that we need Smart Contracts and a way to have a native second-layer solution. This way the blockchain would be enriched with an easier way to trade between successful projects and open up a new world of possibilities. I wonder how we survived so far and I think we really need this in order to evolve and challenge other blockchains.

Hive is ahead of the curve. People talk about Web 3.0 and what it looks like, we get to feel that here on Hive. More Dapps will make it fast to onboard new people and retain the user base. From this point, there is no turning back because things are moving toward Web 3.0.

Compact your feeling, I'm new and I feel that hive has long emphasized the creation of high-volume content, and Hive is much more than that. getting developers excited about building Hive should be the next step and it can be done.
#Hive would be a great place to build other projects. !PIZZA

@adailsm, sorry! You need more to stake more $PIZZA to use this command.

The minimum requirement is 20.0 PIZZA staked.
