The LEO Hub / The Everything App

Many companies like Twitter under Elon Musk are talking about the everything app including now LeoFinance. In this article I want to go over what my own visions of that would be and the positives and negatives of such an application. This article by no means says anything about what is coming to LeoFinance or their own goals it is simply of my own opinion and vision.

The Everything App

What exactly is the everything app? It first caught mainstream by Elon Musk when taking over Twitter and talking about it. But the thing is these applications already exist in countries such as Asia. It's a single application that offers everything such as...

  • Messaging
  • Social Networking
  • Peer-to-Peer payments
  • e-commerce shopping
  • and so on.

The biggest example of this is WeChat in China which is a single application that lets its 1 billion monthly users hail a taxi, send money to others, make payments at stores.

I think what many people get wrong though is the everything app doesn't actully do everything. Instead it's a interconnected application for a few very popular services it doesn't actully do EVERYTHING and this isn't the first time it's been attempted. Snapchat introduce payments and mobile apps of which is scaled both back and Meta aka Facebook has been trying to push into e-commerce.

The Cons

Much like in life the same goes for business. If you take too much on and try to do Everything you end up doing a poor job at everything or a just ok job of it. To make something great you need to specialize in it. This is what makes companies thrive by focusing on one or a small set of related products and knocking it out of the park. By taking too make projects on you quickly start to run out of development teams that are able to work with each other to get all parts working and you complicate the matter to an extent it always is buggy or just work ok or good but never great.

The Pros

The benefits of this however are you can do many things that interconnect with each other in a more seamless nature. Now one application allows you to for example chat with someone, call a taxi/uber and pay the taxi/uber instead of loading up an application to talk with your friends then then loading up lift or uber for example to call in the taxi. Now a single application does this and it just makes sense.

When you combine that into the crypto world there are features that just make sense to connect under one roof as well.

The LEO Everything App

From the above the vision I see LeoFinance taking would be to learn lessons of other failed projects and to realize the Everything app doesn't do everything. Instead it houses the most common used features of it's userbase under one roof to offer a seamless experience that people love.

So what makes sense for LeoFinance?

In my vision I see the current parts of LeoFinance and dubbing it down to include everyone. The first step is to remove the meta of Finance only belongs on this platform. While longer form content will most likely be focused around finances still the shorter form content of threads (which I hope gets renamed to something else) will turn into a general everything and anything is accepted and equally shared by others.

As stated above in the pros this mentality now fuels a single token LEO instead of spreading it across more tokens. With the same emission rate, more people using it and demand increasing on it that token should increase in value over time as the applications grow and the userbase grows. But there needs to be core values of why people would want to power up LEO and use it in things like liquidity pools.

Leo combining the following is a smart fluid move but much work still needs to be done and falls short in many areas still.

Threads offers easy onboarding to millions if not billions of users but much work needs to be done on this front end to make it easier to navigate, reply to people, filter the content you want to see and explore trends you want to explore.

From there it expands into deeper articles long form content that blends seamlessly with the threads feature. Offering a deeper dive into topics and the ability to comment and interact directly on the articles there.

From there we have LeoDex.io which is highly under utilized and has massive potential including adding in some form of swap feature for all hive engine tokens including a seamless flow into the defi worlds of CubDeFi and PolyCub.

If all of this is done in an affective manner Leo could become one of the largest tokens ever to hit the hive blockchain. But as stated there's a lot of fluid interaction that needs to be build and placed that is missing. Will we get there and is the the vision LeoFinance has? That I'm unsure on but figured I would include my own thoughts on the matter. What are yours?

Oh yeah Leo Dex. Cubdefi and Polycub sure has taken the spotlight from Leo Dex. I wonder if people still use it compared to the DeFi platforms.

There's no reason why it shouldn't be and integrated into Leo itself. LeoFinance should have links to go right in and easily swap tokens using LeoDex, CubDefi and Polycub without the user even really realizing it. There's huge fees to be collected from that type of activity and could fuel the value of leo, cub and polycub.

Have you seen the movie the social network?

I love the line where JT goes 'drop the, the' and then walks out.

In my opinion, LeoFinance needs to drop Finance from their branding.

I think revamping the social aspect of leofinance to include more than just finance is a great idea especially if you look at it from this standpoint of reaching a wider audience. I just hope there is a special finance hub (or something like that) that will help remain some of its great finance articles or posts.

Many people are still afraid to use any Leo platform because they feel they know nothing about Finance, and so they don't want to be downvoted or fired.

The idea of dropping the Finance part of the name will be pretty nice owing to the fact that Leo has a micro-blogging feature in it.

We shouldn't give room for people to be emotionally or psychologically restricted based on fear of the Finance world.
