Yesterday we saw some big time releases and updates from a majority of the big player games here in the hive blockchain. Today I want to dive a bit into each and go over some of my own thoughts and where we might be headed next.

Splinterlands New Update

While this isn't a update directly with Splinterlands itself it is an offshoot project that still has some connections to Splinterlands. After what feels like years I was able to not only open some of my packs for their new tower defense game called Soulkeep.

I swear I bought these packs FOREVER ago lol but I will have to say they have earned me a fair share of SPS over the years to make up for it so no bad feelings there.

These packs currently only sell for $1.64 on the internal market and there's some decent priced ones still over on Wax as well. If you want to get in on this game Honestly $5 to $10 would be plenty in order to have a decent setup and with some luck some good cards.

I've opened up a number of packs now myself but this was my first.

I thought it was pretty funny I got a card called Cheapo and honestly it's a card I use pretty often now! The card allows you to place any tower of yours at a discount so pretty good!

The leveling system is still something I'm trying to figure out and understand on the card. For some reason ever card I open was locked and takes 3 days to unlock so in that time I'm going to figure out the leveling system of the cards.

It seems like soon maybe a week or two longer and rewards of SPS etc will start to be paid out for playing of games. That's still something that I'll dig deeper into as well and more detailed articles and such on those things will be on my gaming alt account for hive called @spt.bitcoinflood

Game Number 2

Now while this one isn't that big of a deal yet it is progress FINALLY on Moon Karts! These packs are currently selling at about $2 a pop on the hive-engine trading center under token Centauri. The general pack sale of 500k packs (which seems like wayyy too many) will be going live soon.

I ended up opening my five packs I had bought and landed on some pretty decent cards to have a good enough racing car I think. I did a practice run with it all and seems to handle pretty good with good speed so we will since once this thing goes live.

Now could be a great time as well to pick up some lower priced decks and cards before it goes live to the masses.

Hives Gaming Ecosystem

Hives gaming section has been struggling and it still kind of floors me how the DHF money even a little bit of it is not used to help support game building on hive. I guess that's the disconnect with the power users of hive with millions of hive and the other section that built hive-engine. It's a stupid dumb battle which I'll never understand. You can't complain about something if you don't offer something comparable to it for the last 3 years.

Overall though this is showing us progress in the gaming space for hive again which I personally feel is greatly needed. Not only does it bolster the user base on hive but it also brings more attention to it more so than any other project I have seen so far in terms of really onboarding people.

Yesterday I wrote a bit about the gaming section and how it's truly not dead. Instead there's now MAJOR competition and many blockchains. Simply having a blockchain and a game no longer makes you successful and I think it's starting to blindside Hive and we really need to step up our game if we want to survive around here. It's no longer the easy road we much be building and growing and building things people want to use and actully join and take part in the blockchain.
