Splinterlands has been my go to hive blockchain game for years now. I took part in Alpha but it wasn't until Beta that I really went wild collecting up to 3 full decks! That ended up coming in pretty handy now that land is around and those hold a nice little perk when on land.

Today I want to go over some of my focus goals with Splinterlands this year. It's been gaining a fair bit of traction again and honestly I'm feeling good about the game again and its direction.

The Change

For me Splinterlands got weird when DEC wasn't at peg and started to climb to $0.01 each yes that's much much higher from the $0.001 peg it's suppose to be. But at the time I got from the team was it is what it is and they don't control the markets. Which at the time could have been the right answer as there was NOTHING in place to try and hold the peg at $0.001. But boy am I glad I didn't buy any DEC at those prices. Instead I bought when it was under $0.001 fully expecting it to at some point return to it's so called peg and that bet paid off in a pretty big way over the last two years.

That spring boards me off to what I'd like to cover next and maybe open up some old wounds here lol. That was the fact of me not really enjoying where the game was 2 years ago. Myself I felt everything was crazy over inflated and I know I wasn't alone on that topic. To be fair I eventually even stopped playing the game at all for 6 months and just rented everything out. It wasn't until the company had it's second rounds of layoffs but more importantly a refocus on delivering on things that they promised years ago.

Now that we are seeing action again on this front, a return to a peg of DEC at roughly $0.001 per each and SPS starting to see some positive traction and actully being able to play and win some battles again instead of a bunch of bots keeping me stuck in bronze with no rewards my passion for the game has once again come back and that has me bullish again.

The Goals

There's two major core goals I have for the game now and it's not really battles anymore. It's mainly around SPS to 1,000,000 staked and my 142 plots of land working (or at least the 100 that are around my keep) so let's break that down a bit.

SPS 1,000,000

My goal is set for 1 million sps staked on the game itself and not counting things like liquidity pools etc. So far it's getting there but it's been a bit of a slow road. In about another 2 months I'll be at the half way mark of my goal which means I need to start buying or earning more of them some how.

My goal with that is to first expand land I have a number of plots around the lands in which I could start farming some more SPS. The only issue I see myself getting into is when it comes to building buildings as people will most likely get the upper hand on me on those regions I only have 2-5 plots. So on that level its a bit hit or miss if I want to go in that direction or not.

Instead what I might do is end up building up all of my lands and get them ready for buildings so I don't have to get many if any resources off the markets for them. I could then level up my buildings quickly and also be super self sufficient meaning anything extra could then go into liquidity pools which could be cashed in for SPS.

Option 1 or Option 2 choices choices!

Cards

Outside of that I really don't need more cards but I will pick them up if I find some good deals to rent out or work the lands. Overall though my goal would be to get one full deck again of rebellion and I'll be working hard on the wagons once they release for some airdrop cards will be an interesting twist!

Overall I have to say Splinterlands is moving in a good direction. Assets are starting to increase in value and I honestly feel it has little to do with the overall market and more about the positive changes happening with the company/game.
