My today's Nigerian recipe// tropical sun ground rice (tuwo shinkarfa) with beans soup (gbegiri) ππ²π«
Hello everyone
Greetings to you all in this community and hive at large, this is my first blog in this community, I hope I will be welcome to share my daily recipe in this community, it is with great pleasure that I'm sharing with you my today's recipe of tropical ground rice with beans soup popularly called tuwo rice in my country, the food itself is made from rice and the soup is made from black eye beans, it can also be referred to rice and beans recipe in another form eaten with preferred protein like fish, beef or chicken.
This recipe is mostly eaten in the northern part of Nigeria but because it's a palatable delicacy, other part of the country love also added it to their recipe.
Join me as I take you through the process of preparing this delicacy.
From the rice, I measured 2 cups of small milk tin and wash it in a bowl of water until it became clean
It was placed on fire in a pot of boiling water on medium heat to cook for awhile until it becomes very soft, you can check by pressing a grain between the finger to know how soft it becomes, after which you use a turning stick to mash it together to form a dough.
Scoop it from the pot into a container that can keep it warm or you can decide to make the soup first and eat the food immediately after cooking, whichever is ok.
To make the beans soup
I measured 1 cup of milk tin of beans and wash to remove the chaf.
After washing,it was sieve to remove the chaf and it was placed on fire in a pot of water containing locus beans on medium heat.
It was allowed to cook until it becomes very soft and smooth after continuous stirring.
I took some red ball pepper blend it and pour it in the pot of beans
Along with the blended pepper, I added a pinch of salt to taste and seasoning with palm oil.
It was allowed to cook for few minutes before I added my fish and cow skin (ponmo) it was allowed to cook for a out 10min and that was all.
Our beans soup is ready to be served and eaten.
I dish out the food I made earlier (tuwo shinkafa) and beside it I added the soup (beans soup) and the fish and cow skin.
I added little stew from the pot of stew I had and it was eaten.
What a very nutritive recipe!!
Thanks so much.
