Design of a wrapper and peplum blouse outfit for my mother in-law
Hello everyone
Happy new year to you all in this great community and at hive at large, I hope you are all doing great, I wish us all a prosperous and fruitful year as we begin the journey of this year together, it is my pleasure to share with you my recent design of this beautiful combined African print and plain satin fabric used to make a wrapper and peplum blouse outfit for my mother in-law for a wedding.
We have a wedding to attend next week and this is the African print fabric sold for friends and we'll wishers as a uniform to grace the occasion, this custom is not so new as it's the way we celebrate the couple or celebrant for the occasion, regardless of the yards you buy, the important thing is that you are not left out. My mother-in-law got just 4yards of the fabric and as I usually make her gown outfit but this time she said she wanted this to be a wrapper and blouse, thinking of how to make this possible, because I only have 4yards of fabric with me, I decided to add another matching color fabric to combine with the fabric so that it would be enough to make her desired outfit.
Let me take you through the cutting and sewing process.
From the 4yards of fabric, I cut out 2yards and 8" for the wrapper which was folded on both sides by 1.5" and I cut out a long piece to make a rope to the tip of the wrapper to tie make it firm at the waist.
From the remaining fabric, I cut out a basic block bodice to the waist line for the front and back with zipper allowance at the back.
Same shape was cut out on the lining for the front and back bodice which was used to turn it inside out for neat finishing.
After which I went ahead to cut out a 360° flare from the plain fabric using the waistline measurement and full length measurement to the hip line.
The flare was placed on a line as I cut out same shape before taken to the sewing machine as I used the lining to turn the flare inside out.
I cut out a basic sleeve and sew it to the armhole circumference of the blouse after the front and back were sewn together with the side seam allowance.
The flare was sewn to the upper bodice round the waistline and I have a complete blouse with zipper at the back.
To add more beauty to the blouse, I made a fabric rose from the plain fabric and added it to the side front of the blouse.
This is the final and beautiful outcome of the wrapper and peplum blouse outfit I made for my mother in-law for a wedding.
I hope you like the simplicity and beautiful outcome of the outfit.
Happy New Year to you 💝🥰, let me congratulate you, this dress is very beautiful, I hope your mother-in-law likes it very much, the colors of the fabric are very striking and beautiful, I wish you many successes and blessings in this new 2025
