Sharing before vacation at work [ENG-ESP]

Vacations are here and as is customary in my workplace, which is an elementary school, we have a get-together to celebrate and say goodbye for almost two months, until September 16 when we will be back. This year we wanted to do many things, including having the get-together in an outside place, either a restaurant or a shopping mall, but we didn’t manage to do anything, so we decided to do it for the next school year.

Llegaron las vacaciones y como es costumbre en mi lugar de trabajo, que es una escuela primaria, hacemos un compartir a celebrar y despedirnos por casi dos meses, hasta el 16 de septiembre que estaremos de regreso. Este año queríamos hacer muchas cosas, incluso hacer el compartir en un lugar externo, ya sea un restaurante o un centro comercial, pero no logramos hacer nada, así que decidimos hacerlo para el próximo ciclo escolar.

What we were able to do this year was to not have to cook for ourselves; in previous years we always had our food prepared by one of my classmates or the school kitchen. This year we ordered grilled chicken, yucca, salad, guasacaca and soda to go. So we just had to wait, serve and eat.

I don’t know if all the Maestras meetings are the same, because I have only worked in this school, but every time we have a sharing we can’t miss the music, because even if we are alone we dance. The great majority of the workers at the school are women so we have to do it alone, although in the pictures I don’t see myself dancing because I was taking the pictures, I danced too, because I love to dance and the best thing is that we don’t dance crazy each one on our own, although sometimes we do it, we are even able to choreograph a choreography.

Lo que pudimos hacer este año fue no tener que cocinar nosotras; en años anteriores siempre nos preparaba la comida una de mis compañeras o la cocina del colegio. Este año encargamos pollo a la brasa, yuca, ensalada, guasacaca y refresco para llevar. Así que solo tuvimos que esperar, servir y comer.

No sé si todas las reuniones de Maestras son iguales, porque solo he trabajado en esta escuela, pero cada vez que tenemos un compartir no puede faltar la música, porque aunque estemos solas bailamos. La gran mayoría de los trabajadores de la escuela somos mujeres así que tenemos que hacerlo solas, aunque en las fotos no me veo bailando porque estaba haciendo las fotos, yo también bailaba, porque me encanta bailar y lo mejor es que no bailamos a lo loco cada una por nuestra cuenta, aunque a veces lo hacemos, incluso somos capaces de coreografiar una coreografía.

Lunch was delicious, we toasted with refreshments and said goodbye to our director, who will probably not be here next school year, as she has completed her years of service and will most likely retire this year. After tidying up and cleaning up we sat down and had a nice cup of coffee prepared for us in the school kitchen.

El almuerzo estuvo delicioso, brindamos con refrescos y nos despedimos de nuestra directora, que probablemente no estará aquí el próximo curso escolar, ya que ha cumplido sus años de servicio y lo más probable es que se jubile este año. Después de ordenar y limpiar nos sentamos y tomamos una buena taza de café preparada para nosotros en la cocina de la escuela.

Although it wasn’t part of the celebration anyway I wanted to show this picture, because although they are not my style I tried on these long boots sold by a colleague and although at no time I thought of buying them I still wanted to try them because they are very sexy, I couldn’t walk them but I asked a friend to take pictures 🤣🤣🤣🤣.

Aunque no era parte de la celebración de todas formas quería mostrar esta foto, porque aunque no son mi estilo me probé estas botas largas que vende una compañera y aunque en ningún momento pensé en comprarlas igual quise probarlas porque son muy sexys, no pude caminarlas pero le pedí a una amiga que me tomara fotos 🤣🤣🤣.
