Thoughts about the newest Humble Drop: May 2024

Okay... I really need to keep up with these Humble Bundle drops... I think that my next few posts are going to be catching up with these! If nothing else, it is to keep my list of drops up to date so that I don't accidentally keep buying the games that I already own through these drops!

So, straight to the MAY drop! Yes yes... I'm that far behind, and the August one is already on the way!

Yakuza: Like a Dragon
Hi-Fi Rush
Steelrishing
Loddlenaut
King of the Castle
Bravery and Greed
Amanda the Adventurer
Mediterranea Inferno

Yakuza: Like a Dragon was the lead game in this bundle, and for those of you who like turn based JRPGs... well, this is an awesome game with some pretty weird-arse quirky humour! I'm part way through it already, having already bought it quite a while back... and I'm considering moving it over to the Deck so that I'm more likely to play it while I'm travelling. I had moved it off the Deck, as it was one of the more power hungry games and would deplete the battery fast... but now that I have a high capacity and high output spare battery... well, there is no excuse! But this particular key will go to my game store... I already own it!

Hi-Fi Rush is another game that I've had on my wishlist for quite some time. A rhythm shooter/action game... it has comic styled visuals and thankfully, I DIDN'T buy it in all the various sales! I'm slowly learning my lesson here... so, this will be a definite keeper, and I'm also wondering if it is a better fit for the Steam Deck rather than my gaming laptop?

Steelrising is ANOTHER game that I've had on my wishlist... and finally, DID NOT buy! And so I was quite chuffed to see it appear on a Humble Bundle drop! Some really interesting setting here, an alternate timeline of revolutionary France... automatons and all of that, this thing just looks crazily interesting from a story point of view, and it looks beautiful as well! Keeper!

Loddlenaut... a cute looking kiddie game? Playing as an astronaut who is cleaning up an ocean? I don't think that this is for me, but my kids might be interested... and it does have overwhelmingly positive reviews... so, maybe there is something to this game that is more than meets the eye?

King of the Castle is one game that I've had an eye on as a sort of family night game... a multiplayer (hopefully LAN/hotseat...) game of conniving and backstabbing to get to a win! Love the graphical style, and I'm looking forward to knifing the family!

Bravery and Greed is a old-school looking sidescroller... rogue-like and action... it might be interesting to a much younger version of myself, but I'm afraid that I don't have the time or interest to play these sorts of games anymore! Plus, I have a few of these types of games that I would much rather play! Hades beckons... I'm afraid that this is going back to the keys store.

Amanda the Adventurer... okay, at first glance, it looks like this is a Dora knock-off... but after ready the description a bit more... it is a HORROR game! Nice concept... but as always, I'm a chicken, and will pass on this one to the keys store!

Mediterranea Inferno looks to be a weird-arse indie visual novel... strange looking, but this is the sort of thing that Humble Drop is good for... unearthing hidden indie gems that I wouldn't normally have had a second look at. I'm keeping this one, out of curiosity! Will it be good? No idea!

Have you heard of Humble Bundle? It's a place to get some really great deals on Games, e-books and comic bundles. However, if you sign up for a Humble Bundle Subscription (12 USD per month) you get some really nice bonuses!

  1. A 100+ USD bundle of games delivered direct to you each month, redeemable on Steam, Uplay or direct download (depending on the game). This includes recent Triple A games!
  2. Access to the Humble Bundle "Trove", a list of 60 games (and growing...) which are free to play as long as you remain a subscriber!
  3. Additional Discounts on the Humble Bundle store, with the choice of supporting charities, Humble Bundle or developers in whatever percentage that you wish!

Humble Bundle Subscriptions, it's a no brainer for the dedicated gamer!

Never really understood the steam gaming network...

Although this seems dope...

You get all these games for free?

Like an airdrop?

It's not part of Hive/Steem.

Just a way to get games, software and ebooks cheap. The site is worth a visit but depends on the week/month what is available cheap.

Ah, this is Steam (Valve) not Steem!

There is a subscription (about 12 USD per month), and in exchange you get a monthly drop of at least 8 games... and discounts on lots of others. Plus, there are pay what you want bundles of books, comics, games as well!
