Post Butt-Probe!
Well, all of that went off without too much of a hitch! Like most people have said, the prep was the worst part... well, the fasting wasn't that bad, I found that I wasn't as starvingly hungry as I thought that I would be. Probably helps that I'm not a big eater anyway... but I did have one time when I was travelling and I didn't eat for a day, and I arrived at my destination achingly hungry!
But the less fun bit was the two rounds of laxative... which had me running a couple of times for the toilet. Thankfully, I decided to cancel several hours of teaching... that would have had been not much fun! Although, in the end, I also did teach one student for a short lesson as she had a concert the next day and I wanted to be sure that she had all the help that she needed beforehand.
Anyway, I only had a single midnight toilet run... I heard that other patients had a much more of a sleepless night!
Then... arriving early at about 715 for a check in... well, more to sit in line until it was my turn to do the check-in, and then the intake, and the dressing down... and then when it started, I walked into the clinic room... a handful of people greeted and introduced themselves... I was made comfy on a bed, with a warmed up blanket! A thing put in my arm, and then the guy said, this will just relax you... and two seconds later... I'm completely out!
Very strange... and slightly disturbing, but it felt like a hugely deep and restful sleep!
... and the next thing I know, there was a nurse just gently waking me up... and yes, I was still groggy for a little while... think of the disorientation that you have when you accidentally sleep too long in the afternoon after being exhausted (for me that, is when there are long travel tours, and I need to get a little nap in before a concert...).
Anyway... just a few questions, and then they let me sit down (a bit dizzy, misbalanced a little... but didn't fall!)... and I had a sandwich, coffee, and juice. Yum... and then I was taken out and got dressed again, and had to kill a couple of hours in the waiting room while I waited for my wife to finish her concert so that she could pick me up.
Thankfully, I don't feel too sore or anything... and they didn't find anything that was of any concern... at least, nothing that they found that was urgent... I guess I will know more about it when I have an appointment with my GP in a couple of weeks.
I can't drive or anything for the next day... I still feel a little slow and groggy... but not terribly so, just a little harder to grab focus of mind. But at least I think I will be sort of in good enough shape to do a concert in two days!
... and that will (for the moment...) be the last concert for the year! Then it is down into holiday mode! And administration mode for the ensemble... there are still lots of things to be done!

It’s so great to get through that procedure and out the other side! I just went through it recently. Like you, nothing creepy or concerning was found, and I don’t have to do it again for 10 years!
Glad things are winding down for the holidays! Enjoy the season!
I'm glad it all went so well for you. Hopefully you won't have to worry about it again for ten years now. I had some polyps removed when I was in so I have to have it done again in five years. :P UGh!
