New Dishwasher
Bah, this year seems to have been a year of expenses! Mostly car related, which has been annoying... but hopefully, it will all be resolved... but hilariously enough, just this last week we replaced the tyres on our little car... only to find that somewhere along the intervening couple of days, we had picked up a screw in one of the tyres!
Thankfully, it hadn't pierced the tyre and the mechanic said that it had just gotten stuck in the tread. Phew...
Anyway, after a couple months of slowly playing up... no completed cycle, stuck timer, and sometimes the dishwashing tablet not being ejected into the wash cycle... our old Miele dishwasher (that came with the house..) finally gave up the ghost when our ensemble guests were here... of course, the time when we really need it to work, so a weekend of handwashing whilst juggling all the other stuff!
So, we resolved to replace it... and then as soon as the guests left, it started working again. But we had already allocated some time and money to replace it... and we didn't trust it anymore!
We made the trip to the local appliance store... learnt a great deal about dishwashers and then made the decision to go with a better and more expensive brand/model... not the top of the tier, but not the absolute cheapest!
... and we just had it replaced! Our new little ASKO dishwasher... initially, our oldest daughter hated the idea that the metallic front wouldn't be the same as the wood veneer on the other doors... but when she got home and saw it, she loved it! Of course, in this photo, I hadn't taken the covering off it yet!
Anyway, I just need to clean the remaining shelving area at the bottom... and mop up a bit, there was a lot of scungy water that came out of the old one. It was pretty damn gross!!!
So, a new washing machine, an expense... but hopefully one that will last for quite a while!

How things stop working at the worst timelike, seriously, when you need it most? Handwashing dishes during a gathering must’ve been exhausting, but at least now you’ve got a fancy ASKO to make life easier.
Yep, we are enjoying this new one!
that's really a story to tell @bengy, it works after the guess are off... LOL, you did the right decision by replacing it, let the ghost find a new home!!
Yes, the dishwasher gremlin is now gone to a different place! Probably the tip...
