A second Crypto.com VISA debit card!

EDIT: Hmmm... leofinance seems to be down. Posting via Peakd.

Normally, I wouldn't really bother about getting a second physical VISA card for my Crypto.com... the last time I upgraded my card tier, I didn't bother with changing the physical card... after all, there would be nothing different with the perks... just the ability to flash around a different colour card, with the in-crowd cachet that people who knew what it would mean would notice about the flasher...

... and if that was the case, I would rather stick with a lower tier coloured card to remain a touch incognito!

However, I recently moved from the EU to Australia... and for some reason, that meant that my Crypto.com account could not follow me from the euro zone KYC/AML to the Australian one! Well, that was a minor pain in the arse... it was easy enough to send loose crypto from one account to the other, but I will have to wait for some of the time locked stakes to become free before they can be sent. Plus, there were additional problems with the DeFi wallet... but I'll not go into that here.

Anyway, long story short... it meant that I had to order a new VISA debit card for the new Australian account in order to be able to top it up and spend in AUD instead of Euros. The Euro bank accounts should be dead and gone by the end of the year at the latest!

So, that meant staking for a new card in CRO... and for us, that meant that the big decision was... what colour card would we like to choose?

There was a bit of a discussion about this... I preferred a green one, whilst my wife preferred the violet one...

I guess there are going to be no surprises about whose choice actually prevailed... but in my defence, it will be my wife that will be using this Crypto.com card most of the time, as I have often used the Binance one instead. However, for the next few months the Binance one is still denominated in euros, and the whole account will need to migrate when we have a more permanent address for the KYC/AML. I won't ask for a card reissue (if that needs to be done...) until AFTER we do our last move.

So, we now have a nice violet Crypto.com VISA debit card to do all our purchases in Australia. Something that I really like in Australia is the fact the VISA network is more readily accepted everywhere for payments here... making it easy to both spend crypto and drip crypto via cashback rewards on this card.

As I had mentioned when I first unpacked the original Crypto.com VISA debit card, there is something really nice about the way that they have presented the boxing and unboxing process... of course, the "personal" touch from CEO is cheesy as always... but the way that the box slides out to reveal your card in a securely snug holder is pretty damn cool!

So, violet it was for the card! It is pretty understated, in the right light it shows up pretty purple... but mostly, in the darker lights it shows up as nearly black. Again, it is an incredibly classy metal backed card that is on show. Honestly, if you have never held a metal backed card in your hand... it feels PREMIUM! Every other plastic card feels cheap and tacky afterwards and you will wish that every card would feel like this in the hand.

So, it is time to phase out the red card... it has served us well over the last few years, but unfortunately it wasn't possible to transfer the card seamlessly. I will keep it alive with crypto and a last euro deposit so that it remains active. I think that there is a cancellation fee, so I will try and drip it dry until the expiry date.

... and welcome to the violet card! It looks and feels nice... but I still think that the green one would have looked much much cooler!

Gate.io: If you are after some of the weirdest and strangest tokens, this is one of the easiest off-chain places to get them!
Coinbase: If you need a regulated and safe environment to trade, this is the first exchange for most newcomers!
Crypto.com: Mixed feelings, but they have the BEST looking VISA debit card in existence! Seriously, it is beautiful!
CoinList: Access to early investor and crowdsale of vetted and reserached projects.

Uphold has a crypto backed debit card as well, and I've had great luck with it making purchases worldwide. It was great for sending Christmas gifts!

Good luck with getting settled in Australia!
