Die Idee kennt ihr schon, ich schließe die Augen und ziehe dann einfach 3 Langspielplatten aus meinem Regal. Diesmal allerdings wurde ich selbst überrascht, was sich da in diesem Regal befindet...

OPUS - UP AND DOWN

Opus is an Austrian band of the 80s, they even come from my home state Styria. In 1985 they had an absolute world hit with Life Is Life.
At that time I also heard them live, it was a huge concert with many Austrian music giants of that time, like Falco or Wolfgang Ambros. It was fantastic and I will always have fond memories of it.
Opus ist eine österreichische Band der 80er Jahre, sie kommt sogar aus meiner Heimat, der Steiermark. In 1985 hatten sie mit Life Is Life einen absoluten Welthit.
Damals habe ich sie auch live gehört, es war ein riesiges Konzert mit vielen österreichischen Musik Giganten dieser Zeit, wie zum Beispiel Falco oder Wolfgang Ambros. Es war fantastisch und wird mir immer in guter Erinnerung bleiben.

ELLA FITZGERALD

This LP has surprised me very much, because I actually do not know it! So of course I know Ella Fitzgerald, but this album is unknown to me. I can only explain it the way that it had somehow migrated here from the large record collection of my deceased great uncle.
Diese LP hat mich deshalb sehr verwundert, weil ich sie tatsächlich nicht kenne! Also natürlich kenne ich Ella Fitzgerald, aber dieses Album ist mir unbekannt. Ich kann mir das nur so erklären, dass es irgendwie aus der großen Plattensammlung meines verstorbenen Großonkels hierher gewandert war.

Aber sie ist ziemlich genial, also bin ich happy, dass ich sie gefunden habe! Ich liebe diese Platte!

Born in 1917, more than a hundred years ago, Ella Fitzgerald became an icon of jazz, blues and swing. It would have been difficult to choose one song out of all her songs, so I was happy that I "only" had to choose from the 28 songs that were released on the double album.
I chose the following one because I find it incredibly beautiful:
Geboren 1917, also vor über hundert Jahren, wurde Ella Fitzgerald zu einer Ikone des Jazz, Blues und Swing. Es wäre schwierig gewesen, aus all ihren Songs einen auszuwählen, also war ich froh, dass ich "nur" aus den 28 Songs wählen musste, die auf dem Doppel Album veröffentlich wurden.
Ich habe den nachfolgenden gewählt, weil ich ihn unglaublich schön finde:

GENESIS

After all, the third album is very familiar to me, it was my favorite record for a long time, so I also knew as soon as I saw it, "Oh dear, which song do I choose?". Mama? Home by the Sea? Second Home by the Sea? Illegal Alien? - Honestly, I knew them all by heart, without looking ;-) only with Illegal Alien I had to look whether it is really spelled that way ;-) Then the realization: Oh, "That's All" is also on it!
Immerhin, das dritte Album ist mir sehr vertraut, es war über eine lange Zeit meine Lieblings Platte, so wusste ich auch sofort als ich sie sah: "Oje, welchen Song wähle ich? Mama? Home by the Sea? Second Home by the Sea? Illegal Alien? - Ehrlich alle auswendig gewusst, ohne nachzusehen ;-) nur bei Illegal Alien musste ich schauen, ob man es wirklich so schreibt ;-) Dann die Erkentnis: Oh, "That's All" ist ja auch darauf!

I loved those at that time produced suitably designed inner sleeves of the long-playing records. I have to say that I wasn't a very big Genesis fan in general, but this album grabbed me and even today I can listen to again and again.
Sehr fein waren auch die zu dieser Zeit üblichen passend gestalteten Innenhüllen der Langspielplatten. Ich muss dazusagen, dass ich ansonsten kein sehr großer Genesis Fan war, aber dieses Album hat mich gepackt und auch heute noch kann ich es immer wieder hören.

Peter Gabriel, Phil Collins, Steve Hackett, Tony Banks, Mike Rutherford ... there is already one or the other world-famous name. (Music history note to @stevenson7 hope you know them?)

Although my all time favorite on this album is "Mama", I decided to show you the following. Hehe, also because it contains two songs in one.
Obwohl der Song "Mama" mein absoluter Favorit auf dem Album ist, habe ich mich nun für folgenden entschieden. Hehe, auch weil es zwei Songs in einem beinhaltet.
