These Kwetiau and Minas were Tantalising

Hi Hivers!

How are you? I hope I hear good news from you. It's been a long time since I've shared a post in this community. As I recall, the last time I shared was about my mum's favorite cake, and that was like two months ago. How quickly time flies when we look back.

Today I would like to share what I did last Saturday night. It is one of my new habits in the past month. I call it Me time. Where I am free to do whatever I want. I don't do it every day. I only do it at the end of the week, or usually on Saturday night. I bought and ate more than usual on this day. Haha. I call it rewarding myself. I will eat and do whatever I want without thinking about it on this particular day. It's not like the usual days that always give me a headache just because of the problem of what to eat.

Last Saturday night, I bought two portions of food at Bofet Teja, one serving of fried kwetiau noodles and one serving of fried rice. Because I am a person who is rather lazy to leave the house, then as usual, I bought food through the Gojek application. Since I still have a discount promo that I have not used, the promo will also run out soon. I immediately ordered food.

Without using a discount voucher (46.000 IDR or $3.03)

Not bad, right? I didn't have to go out and wait in a queue, but I got a pretty good price for two servings of this food. I saved about 20,700 IDR or $1.37 with this promo.

Fried Kwetiau Noodles

Kwetiau is one of the most popular foods in Indonesia. Kwetiau noodles have a chewy and soft texture. Kwetiau can usually be enjoyed fried or boiled. For my order this time, I opted for a portion of the original fried Kwetiau. The Kwetiau is cooked by stir-frying until it releases a tempting smell.

Kwetiau noodles have a chewy and soft texture that is stir-fried with oil and the addition of a fried egg. It makes them look juicy. As for the taste, the kwetiau noodles are savory and spicy with a hint of oily gravy. I have bought kwetiau noodles several times at different places, and this restaurant is my favorite.

Noodle Fried Rice (MiNas)

The second dish I ordered was fried rice with a mixture of noodles, commonly called Minas (Mie Nasi goreng/Noodle fried rice). Minas is one dish that is no less popular than Kwetiau. If you are familiar with fried rice, Minas is an upgrade to fried rice. Hehe. Yap, Minas are fried rice with extra noodles in it.

Eating these Minas always reminds me of my days in primary school. I would always bring a lunch of fried rice, noodles, and eggs made by my mum.

I'll be looking for some other food that I'll buy for next Saturday. If you have any food recommendations. Let me know in the comments section, and maybe I'll try it next Saturday. See you soon.
