Longing and trying to get back into habit

Hello hello, I'm somewhat back from the dead! And I Hope it's for good!


So a little life update: It's starting to rain where I live and in return, it's starting to affect the mining in the country. Mining season is coming to an end soon and to celebrate that, I have been drawing again UwU


Honestly, I just stopped postig and writing for a while but I definitely didn't stop trying to sketch in my free time. With that being said, my drawings have mostly been edgy and expressive again since drawing time is the only time I can express the things I've wanted to.


For the past few weeks my most prominent mood is that feeling of longing. Longing for sleep, for my bed, for time outside of the lab, and maybe a longing for physical touch again


So with that mood, this drawing came to life:

Duration: 3 uncontinuous hours (just 1 hour per day after work if I had the energy for it)
Mixed media | Materials: Black ink, chalk, white ink

My lab grandparents do say I capture longing pretty well, but they're still not giving me a long enough break to go on dates because audit is approaching, and now I have a shitton of documents to go through and update on top of developing a new method for peroxide fusion. My workload is still hectic, but now, at least it wasn't as physical as it was a few weeks back.

Nayways, here is my work progression:

So yeah, I went for a solid black here because my lab grandparents hid my colored pens for the meantime because we needed to mak the place look audit worthy ;;-;; And because I'll just draw like this if they didn't remove my art supplies in the lab. Anyways, I ran out of black pens within that day so this was day 1 progress.



Borrowed the trainee's pen the next day while waiting for them to get me more pens from the supplies custodian XD Also snuck in a white pen so I could start highlighting some parts that needed it.

So I got some chalk from the guard because he has a chalkboard by the guardhouse where people wrote lab updates and I kind of just used that small piece to improve the highlights. It was fortunate that saemiart white gel pens work even over chalk layers so I could manage to improve the highlights and to blend some parts of the drawing to make it look a little smooth

A little teaser, cuz I got uninterrupted drawing time today and so I started on a new drawing. Still black and white because I'm in such a black and white mood lately.

Well, this is all from me today! I'll be back tomorrow with the new drawing and hopefully my brain would cooperate with me, I'll try stocking up on drafts again.
