My earnings from Splinterlands

Splinterlands is one of the top passive income-generating games on Hive if we know how to use it. Some people use it as an active income-generating game and some people use it as a passive income-generating game. It depends on how much time people have and how they plan to stay invested. For me spending time in playing the game regularly is a bit challenging but I have invested enough time in the past into the game and that is generating a decent amount of passive income for me. The passive income is in the form of SPS and DEC I earn from the game for my holdings and assets.

This article used to be specifically about the earnings I get from the game from the rental market. This month onwards I'm keeping it generic and going to be reporting my general earning from the game. As I mentioned, I don't play the game regularly but I rent out my cards. I use SPLEX.gg to rent out my cards. That is an excellent service that takes care of adjusting the price of the cards. So far the service is good and the earning from the game had been pretty decent but looks like there is going to be a change to the rental system and I'm not sure how it is going to turn out.

I received a total of around 38k DEC from the rental market as my passive income last month. Compared to the previous month which was around 44k, this is a little low but hopefully, the new changes that are going to be out for the rental market can make things better I believe. Currently, because of the bots, people are updating their rental prices frequently. There are going to be fees introduced to the rental market when the card listing and price update happen. I welcome this change because the fees collected from this are going to be burned anyways. I believe this will be a good sink for DEC and another good thing about this is that the price of DEC might start improving after more burning happens.

In my last month's report, I mentioned that I still have not decided what I'm going to be doing with the DEC I'm accumulating. But now I have arrived at a decision that I'm going to hold them tight for one more month to see how this new sink works. My instincts say that this restriction on the rental market where a fee is collected for listing would discourage frequent updating of the price. Even if people do it, more DEC would be burnt. The article said that it would be 1 DEC per card. So I believe it will be a huge amount of DEC that can increase the value of DEC gradually as this burn is reducing the circulation.

The diesel pools now give SPS instead of DEC as rewards. I have a decent amount of DEC in the Diesel pool that gives me SPS rewards. I check this reward every month and claim them once a month. I already have a goal to reach 100k SPS before the end of this year but it appears that I would be completing this goal sooner than planned because the rewards from the diesel pool are also an additional value add for me.

Every month I also take a screenshot of my Diesel pool position as well to see how it is looking and how I'm progressing. It appears that the value has increased a little bit. The reason could be because of the increase in the price of Hive. Specific to Splinterlands token, I have my position in two pools, one is SWAP.HIVE: DEC and another is DEC: SPS. I thought about increasing the tokens inside this pool but I will reconsider this next month because I think the value might increase after the new sink starts.

I also take a screenshot of my account worth from the SM voter bot. I have not added any further assets to my account in the last one month. The value appears to have dropped a little but hopefully, after the bull run starts again, the value should start improving again.
