BEING A WOMAN: THE WORST PUNISHMENT

Why do women always have to suffer? I have asked this question from different people. Some gave me religious answers, some gave scientific reasons while others just had nothing to say.

From birth, being a woman is already feeling like a curse. In most cultures, female children are not considered special at all. They do not even get to inherit anything from their parents, irrespective of their position in the family. They are seen as "worthless" because it is believed they will be married and once they are married, they are no longer mainly related to them. They are husband's.

Another problem.

Why are women seen as belongings to men? She's either seen as her husband's or her father's. This may sound very normal to you but it is derogatory. While many may use spiritual backings to support this, seeing a woman as something to possess is not right. She is a human like a man. She has the same rights as you do. She has emotions and dreams like you do but she is lesser than you all because her privates are different from yours?

Every month, we have to go through menstruation. The most painful part of life, for most women. Minus the painful cramps, can we talk about the constant changes the body goes through. Sometimes breast pains, mood swings and cravings that aren't even from this world. Then we are taught to hide all of this because menstruation is an "embarrassing" thing if it's exposed. Something that is supposed to be worshipped is seen as "unclean". Like even in the religion, women menstruating aren't allowed into worship centers. Why? Because they are doing something they didn't ask for. Something nature gave to them without permission.

Childbirth is a beautiful thing. That's a lie. It's a tough and painful journey. You are carrying a baby in your stomach for nine months. NINE MONTHS. Those nine months come with different symptoms and uncomfortable phases. If you've ever lived with a pregnant woman, you'd understand what I mean. Those nine months are very long and extremely tough. Then the baby is coming and you have to push a whole baby out of a tiny hole. The excruciating pain. Do you know how many women die from childbirth every year? It's that bad. Some even have to undergo surgery. Thanks to technology, at least death by surgery has reduced.

Then there's this funny quote they say: When you see your baby, you'll realize the pain of child birth was worth. Living with women during and after pregnancy made me realize how much of a illusion that statement is. Your body start to react because it wants to return to it's normal system. It really is a lot.

Last week, a bill was passed that banned abortion in most parts of America. Another reason for men to punish women for nothing. You are asking women to stop aborting but you are doing nothing about the men. You can't tell women to stop having unprotected sex without doing anything about the men too. Men will want to have sex, so what do you expect women to do? Keep swallowing pills that might not be good for them. Let's not even enter the part that abortions aren't always from young people. Sometimes married people don't want more children because they can't take care of them. Some people have medical conditions that require abortions but all these is impossible because men think abortion is "killing babies". Let's make castration compulsory then, since it's less murder likened.

I've spoken to different males about these things and one thing I've just come to conclude is that : this is a man's world. Yes, it is and we women are just accessories. Here to be their pawns. I mean if Donald Trump, a sex offender and terrible person could be elected to be president of America over Hilary Clinton because she's a woman, then it's very obvious where our stand is. Many people will want to deny that reason but in depth they know that the idea of a woman heading the citadel of the world is very foreign and uncomfortable for them.

Everytime I talk about this, I always get men bringing the whole "Men suffer too" talk so I'm expecting those kind of comments under this post. I'll always let it known that me talking about things women go through doesn't mean I'm saying men aren't going through stuff. I'm not a man and I don't know what men go through so I can't speak for them but if men are going through things and refuse to speak up, then that's on them. Don't judge women for speaking up about things they feel aren't fair. It's just like a white person saying "Whites are also having problems" when a black person complains. When the people who are not affected by the law try to talk about the law with people who are actually affected by the law. They can never relate. That's how it is when men tell women to stop talking about things like this.

In my next life, I'd love to come back as a butterfly in the wild or what animal has the shortest life span? I don't want to come back as a woman nor a man. This life is just hard

Lol.... I don't support abortion, and I'm not in support of the burden women have to carry... A woman's mistake is always escalated. When they talk of staying pure, they are referring to a woman as if it's not a man and woman that do intercourse

Hmmmm....
All you said have meanings oo but like you rightly said, you are not a man so you can't talk on behalf of what them...

You guys are passing through your stuffs, fine, no one is denying that fact, but if I should tell you some of the kind of stupid pains I feel as a man, you'll be surprised...

It will be a stupid man that will tell a woman not talk about her problem, even though it doesn't concern them, I believe they should just listen and try to console them, even though they don't understand...

It is well @babymoyin, if indeed there is a second life, you'll definitely come back as a human, it's more fun....
Nice write up...

Well, to say its a man's world is true but quite generic. I understand there are a lot of one-sided issues in our society. But women are everwhere - in religious centres, in the hospitals...well, except the army. I think this thing is due to the fact thst ut is an age-long thing that has existed for generations..
All in all, I love your piece here.😁

This life is just hard

I do not know why I interpreted this as "everthing just tire you" 😂
