[ENG-TR] Izmir Historical Clock Tower —//— İzmir Tarihi Saat Kulesi

Hello friends! For the last few days, due to the intensity of my work and travelling, I have not been able to share. I have a guest coming from afar. I am taking care of him and trying to adapt to his fast-paced life. I am in a very active process. This process is continuing right now. I finally found a little opportunity today, because today is Monday and it is one of the days when the entertainment market is the most stagnant. Therefore, we utilised today as a rest day, which gave me an opportunity to write. I will utilise this great opportunity to tell about Izmir Historical Clock Tower. 😂

The Clock Tower has a magnificent view with its architectural structure, aesthetic appearance, length and lighting, which I photographed in this state because I went at night. It is obvious that it was built with a lot of labour. In the open source research I did on the internet about the history of the building, I learnt that this building was one of the clock towers built in 1901 on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the ascension of the Ottoman Sultan Sultan Sultan Abdulhamid II to the throne.

The place where the Clock Tower is located is usually, as in all cities, the centre of the city and one of the liveliest places. The area where the Clock Tower is located in Konak District is very crowded, especially during daylight hours. This area is really a place that deserves to be crowded. Because, the beautifully coloured İzmir Governorship Building, which is also among my photographs, and just behind this building, the Kemeraltı Bazaar, which is like a very big open market.

There are wooden benches around this big area. The benches were empty because it was late and the weather was cool. But during the day it is quite difficult to find an empty place to sit here. On the coastal side of the benches, there is a small artificial pool that offers a visual feast. After the pool, you have to climb a staircase from this area to go towards the sea. Because there is a difference in elevation.

I would like to mention the public transport here. Konak Ferry Pier, which I mentioned before, is here. Konak Tramway station, Konak Metro Station and Bahri Baba bus stop are also very close to here. You can reach almost everywhere in Izmir from here. This is one of the reasons for the density. Of course, the density brings peddlers and street performers.

In this neighbourhood, there are many such places that are interesting and necessary for people's needs. Finally, I would like to mention the YKM Shopping Centre, which is very close to here. You can find everything you need in the mall, which is within walking distance. Almost everyone knows this shopping centre which is already in many parts of Turkey. This shopping centre has probably been here for a very long time. Because when talking about this area, or when describing a place close to here, I heard it described as YKM's place :))

I almost went into the history of YKM while I was telling about the Clock Tower :)) As a result, this is a very lively place. You can find everything you need in Izmir here. Of course, you should be careful here as you should do when you are in such a crowded place. The crowd, as well as being a reassuring situation, also harbours dangers. Take care of yourself...
