Transplanting rice to my farm
HELLO HIVE
Rice farming is a family business and this is one of the farms we are cultivating on ,we are at the stage of transplanting the rice from the place we had initially planted it on a temporary basis to the main farm where it will spend the next three to four months before it is harvested .
The farm land has to go through several preparation procedures before the rice is transplanted on it
The lands has to be cleared, stumped if the land is about to be used for the very first time and the direction where the water would be come as well as the irrigation system has to be prepared
Water is an important part of this type of rice since it is not the upland rice that requires small water and can easily grow and produce on lands where maize are cultivated on.
This land is referred to as the fadama land since it can guarantee water for most part of the year ,it is always very swampy from the month of may till the month of November.
This period perfectly fits the time when rice should is cultivated by the time it is dry season the rice would have matured and remains for the seeds to dry.
The part where you uproot the rice from it's initial place to the main farm has to be done with care since If the root gets damaged then you are to expect the plant not to grow.
That's why it is important to make sure the ground is wet before uprooting it and the soil you are trying to use as the nursery is not dry and is sandy-loamy and not sandy-clay so the soil won't clinge to the root of the plant .
Thank you for viewing my blog

I think I prefer rice transplanting to seed because it will be hard to be eaten by birds, foul, and other related domestic animals.
Yes and it even grow faster and the weed is not much
