Keeping the water level normal for my swamped rice

HELLO HIVE

The water level for my swamped rice farm had to be kept at a normal level, even though this specie of rice is basically defined by its need for a lot of water over the scale of time it needs to grow and produce, it still needs the water level to be kept constant and normally it should be below the stem region that's some few distance from the ground.

The water it needs are not to make the plant swim in it but to keep the ground wet for a longer period of time since the swamp rice takes longer to produce compared to the upland rice and if the water level is not perfectly manage then dry season would come too early for this plant.

Building fence and irrigation is very important if you want to cultivate swamped rice especially if the land you are using is sloppy and so doesn't retain water.

Framers make use of concrete and soil to make this, they can also make use of sediments, the later part is water I use with soil that have been put inside bags. I have my reasons for using this and not concrete and one of it is the fact that the land am using are not permanently owned by me, I have to pay a yearly rent on the land am using and I see it as inappropriate to temper with the land that am lending for a short time.

The case I had where the water swallowed up the rice I had planted for some days due to a sudden overflow of the dam whose water flows through a channel close to my farm made the whole rice to rotten before the water dried up making it a wasted effort entirely.

No matter how grown and strong the rice plant is I have to avoid any form of flowing water it is better to make the water flow stagnant that way you won't end up jeopardizing everything I have worked on until now.

Thank You for viewing my blog

That's Lovely to know we have someone in our midst who's working tirelessly to feed the nation (Kudos 👍)... The first time I ever saw Rice farm was when I was traveling to Abuja. The field was really beautiful that I had to ask what those were, and I was told it was a Rice farm. Situated around a swampy area though, and the thought of high tides 🌊 crossed my mind

Didn't get the chance to go close though but one day I will, well done for all you do and I pray the water always flow in your favor to avoid shortage again... Thanks for sharing @khingstan Cares 🤴✌️

I love transplanting of rice because they grow very fast once the there's a moderate water supply and adequate photosynthesis. I love the level of the water for now but it should increase in time as the rice grow.

Yes definitely, it has to be on par with the growth rate of the rice
