My diy post on how to make one of the most popular fast food snacks in Nigeria and west Africa as a whole Made using groundnut which is the predominant ingredient in making kuli-kuli(groundnut cake).
Popular around places in west Africa especially Nigeria this delicious snacks is made from peanuts and could be eaten alone or often eaten with a mixture of cassava flakes called garri,sugar and moderate quantity of water.

Nutritional benefits of kuli-kuli (groundnut cake )

Kuli-kuli(groundnut cake) is one of the most protenious foods around since it is produced from groundnut that has a high protein content in it, with high content of fat and oil the level of oil Is so high that no matter how hard you extract the oil it would still not stop flowing out of it,it also contains other nutrients like magnesium, phosphorus and vitamin E.

How it is prepared

To make kuli-kuli you must first fry the peanuts and it should only be for a few minutes to prevent it getting burnt and after that you pour the peanut in an open space to allow air to cool it down to a level where you can use your hands to gently scrub the peanut then you grind it in machine till becomes smooth when it is the peanut that has now taken the form of paste will now be mixed with both spices,salt and sometimes sugar after which excess oil is now removed from the paste this part can be done both manually which is very exhausting or mechanically using already designed machines that can separate the oil from the paste .

The paste is now made into different shapes according to how we want it and then it is fried most times using the oil we have extracted from it until it becomes hard at this point it is taken out of the hot oil and poured into containers that allows air passage and once it cools off then you can happily grab a bite.

This work is often time considered to be woman's work it is mostly sold in parks to hungry travellers and it's even sold in many place of work since it requires no special preparation when you want to eat a mixed combination of kuli-kuli and cassava flakes all you need is your cup,spoon,water, cassava flakes,sugar, kuli-kuli,and milk if you feel like adding it into this .
