DIFFERENT CAST

source
Stella was living in a small city and Ade was living close to her house. Although, Ade was originally from Osogbo. Both of them eventually fell in love and they wanted to get married to each other but they both were from different backgrounds. They knew their family wouldn't accept them to get married. When all the arrangement was going on in their secret place, suddenly, Stella got pregnant and now they couldn't hide it from their families. Not too long, the secret was revealed.
Stella summoned up the boldness and approached her parents to tell her about her pregnancy. They got very angry and they got to know that it was Ade that got her pregnant. They beat him up and threatened to stay away from their daughter.
Meanwhile, Stella's family insisted that she abort the child but she didn't want to do this. Stella wanted the baby no matter what the situation is. Soon, she and her Ade arranged to run away to another state where they could live peacefully. They came running to Ibadan and got married there while Stella was pregnant.
When Ade's parents got the information about their son's wedding without them knowing about it, and it was a girl from a different cast. They were very angry and afraid of the social stigma, they ignore their son.
They faced a lot of issues establishing themselves in Ibadan but they didn't lose their love and courage. They stood strong against all the issues life threw at them and they are living happily in Ibadan with their two children. They bought a house. Though Stella's parents have accepted their marriage, Ade's remained an outcast.
Love can turn a high caste person into an outcast. A recurring theme in a society of rigid social castes. fortunately the world is gradually opening up, @ayin.

Social status has always been a problem in every part of our world today.
We should always learn not to look down at others but instead see the best in them.
I like this @ayin.
Thank you for joining us in The Ink Well, @ayin. You've shared an interesting story about cultural values and whether parents can accept their children's choices.
I would love to see some action and dialog in your story. This means you would describe what happens in the story, instead of summarizing it.
I encourage you to make use of our catalog of fiction writing tips. You will find guidance on how to build characters, integrate action and dialog, write story plots and add a story arc. Good luck and keep writing.
Between our desires and the wishes of the family is sometimes very contradictory.
Thanks for posting this story with a sociological substrate on @theinkwell, @ayin.
Thanks for supporting the community with your comments to the other writers.
