The Fight for the Last Tree for Eternal Power |

In the midst of global warming and climate change and human greed destroying nature, the number of trees in Taranu Country is decreasing. This condition is exacerbated by government policies that do not favor the environment. Mining exploration and forest exploration permits are given to anyone as long as it provides benefits to the authorities.

Forest exploitation permits are given to all entrepreneurs and groups who have helped the government maintain power in general elections. All parties are competing to destroy the environment to accumulate wealth. All parties take advantage of this opportunity to increase income for themselves and their groups.

Nature also rebelled. Land that becomes a sea of ​​waste rejects living trees. All the trees in Taranu Country died. In fact, previously Taranu Country was known as an area with a fairly well-known tagline; sticks, wood and stones become plants.

There is only one blessing tree seedling left. This has also become a bone of contention for the rulers, including the President of Taranu Country. All forces were mobilized to secure the tree. It's not because the President likes trees or supports environmental sustainability, but it is believed that blessed trees can provide good luck to maintain power.

The problem is, the blessing tree seeds are in the hands of traditional elders who are trying to secure the trees together with the residents. Residents have different beliefs, that trees can be a source of sustenance, blessings and prosperity for the inhabitants of the universe. Not only humans, but also all creatures, both visible and invisible.

That's the essence of the story of the play written by my student, Rijal Arrasyid. I gave him homework to write about the environment as a form of training for him who will take part in the competition. I gave him a number of instructions that he had to obey.

Not immediately following the instructions, Rijal even limped at first. But over time and thanks to hard work, he increasingly showed his abilities.

The battle over the tree, which is called the Blessing Tree, is the climax of this story. Mr. President mobilized all his secret forces to seize the tree which they could have easily obtained. However, they couldn't get the tree precisely because of their own greed.[]
