Strengthening the Ties of Love in Pante Gemasih: Gayo Camping!
It's still about tourist destinations in Takengon, the capital of Aceh Tengah, Indonesia. This time it is about Pante Gemasih which is located on the edge of Lake Lut Tawar, a fresh water lake located at the top of Takengon City which has a cool climate (around 18 degrees Celsius in the morning, compared with the temperature in Kota Lhokseumawe which reaches 33 degrees in March 2024 which is indeed is at its highest point).
Pante Gemasih in the Gayo language can be translated as a beach full of love. This destination, which is located in Kelitu, Bintang District, Aceh Tengah Regency, has many interesting angles for group photos. The view below shows the expanse of Lake Lut Tawar. Not the entire surface of the lake can be enjoyed because its area reaches 70 kilometers per square meter. Some are covered with pine forests.
At night when the moon is full, the surface of Lake Lut Tawar looks golden like a golden carpet. Above the surface of the exotic lake, mist could be seen moving under the moonlight, at first glance like hot steam from boiling water. In fact, if we touch it, the water of Lake Lut Tawar will make the body shiver even more.
The view below, in the form of a lake, seems to contrast with the hills and wilderness above. But at night, only a few points of light can be seen, including the headlights of vehicles passing along the road above which winds like a giant sleeping snake.
With this combination of beauty, it would not be wrong if alumni of 91 STM Negeri Bireuen decided to camp at Pante Gemasih. According to one of the alumni, Tarmizi alias Meiji, the place was chosen based on recommendations from alumni who live in Takengon. "Our friends really control this area because they were born and raised here," said Meiji, an alumnus of STM Negeri Bireuen, majoring in Automotive Engineering.
Chairman of the 1991 Alumni of STM Negeri Bireuen, Zulfikar Idris, said that Pante Gemasih represents the atmosphere of closeness and kinship that is becoming stronger among alumni.
"Togetherness on the shores of exotic lakes and graceful hills, under the golden moonlight, strengthens the affection between alumni, especially since we have just become friends again after almost 33 years of separation," said Zulfikar, who now works at an oil and gas company in Lhokseumawe.
This was confirmed by Mulyadi, Fauzi, Hasan, Syabirin, Saleh, and several other alumni. At Pante Gemasih, they are like a family who share their love for each other in happy and sad situations. "We didn't even experience an atmosphere like this when we were at school, decades ago," said Mulyadi, which was confirmed by other alumni.[]
