Never let anyone look down on you
Taking a stand is very important for every human beings. Like if something wrong is happening then you must protest and talk about it. I think even if someone close to us insults us we decide to remain silent. I don’t know why it happens but if it’s a stranger or a classmate we don’t do the same. But if we remain silent they take us for granted and they like to repeat it again and again.
Once you let someone insult you they will never stop because they don’t know the boundaries. They forget that what they are doing is wrong and they don’t feel guilty at all. Because we are letting them get used to the situation. Which is gonna turn up really ugly in the future. I really don’t like it when someone makes a joke by insulting me. Like I think that people should make jokes about something which can make both parties laugh not only the one who is making the jokes.
People sometimes intentionally jokes on your insecurity as you are fat or thin and make fun of you and laugh it away as it was nothing. But I have faced some toxic people if I confront them and tell them about how I feel then they will reply that I am overacting and very immature. Also, they will say that they will stop talking to you then because you are too sensitive. for real I don’t like that when people don’t get that what they are doing is very wrong. I don’t know how can anyone make fun of someone they are insecure about.
I am ready to lose those toxic friends so I decided to show them an exit so that they will know their place and boundaries. Obviously if someone apologies after realising then I won’t hold any grudges against that person. I believe forgiveness is the best thing I can learn to give. If you forgive someone it doesn’t lower your standards also if you apologise your standards grows it shows how much understanding you are.
There are only a few who would admit their mistake and apologise. Like for me if have ever done something which might have hurt someone’s feelings then I will take action instantly and not delay for a bit. Everyone has their own perspectives just because you like the jokes on insecurities of yours or someone else’s that does not mean that everyone will like it because we all are not the same. We have different ways of taking things in mind. The thing which is hurtful to me it might not be hurtful to someone else.
That’s why everyone should be able to accept it when someone doesn’t like your behaviour or your jokes. Also, if you don’t like when someone is behaving in a certain way then you must take a stand for yourself. No matter who it is I think we should keep our self respect and if we don’t do that then no one will respect us. We must should them their boundaries before they cross it. Otherwise you will never be able to say anything and suffer in silence I think that’s a horrible thing to bear in heart.
There was a time when I had a girl bestfriend she used to poke me and make me uncomfortable and judge me. I would never say anything to her because I didn’t our friendship to end and also I cared for her a lot. I was having a thought that if I confront her she might distance herself from me and refrain from talking. I never wanted to see her sad so, I used to overthink about how to make my situations better but I could never do it. In the end she broke our friendship for a silly reason which has hurt me a lot and I stopped making friends after that.
