Why should you consider using "WAVE RUNNER"?
Simple Reason = 5 mana, 4 melee damage with reach skill
Strategic Reason
~ Using WAVE RUNNER as the position 2, you can have different flexible tactics, you can partner up a monster with stun since wave runner have knock out and you also counter flying tanks with its snare. It is also a very mana cheap source of damage with just 5 mana it yields 4 melee damage.

Here are the Rules for the Battle
Mana : 22
Earthquake* : Non-flying monsters take 2 melee damage at the end of each round
Healed Out : All healing abilities are remove from monsters and summoners
*Flying monsters are not necessary but are recommended to be used. You can also counter enemy team with snare.
Lineup Positions :
Summoner : ALRIC STORMBRINGER
- Added Magic damage is always a good thing if you have 2 or more magic damage monsters.
1 = LORD ARIANTHUS
- A very overworked tank in my deck, with a very good mana consuming monster with a very tanky set of skills. Even if it is not a flying monster, it is still good for this battle.
2 = WAVE RUNNER
- Using its reach ability and its snare to counter flying monsters, even if it is not a flying monster, it is still worth it to use on this battle.
3 = ICE PIXIE
- There might be a high chance that the enemy might use Tower griffin and tower griffin have the skill protect to give armor, Ice pixie's skill shatter will make it easier for other damage type to deal damage after destroying the armor of the enemy. It is also a plus that it have flying ability and also have magic damage.
4 = ENCHANTED PIXIE
- Another flying monster with low mana and high magic damage good to use with Alric Stormbringer. Also have Inspire skill which will improve the damage of Wave Runner.
5 = TOWER GRIFFIN
- Another flying monster with other useful skill. Protect is a good support skill and also good to use in earthquake ruleset since there will be small number of scenarios where all of your monsters are flying and are doing something useful other than just dodging the earthquake damage.
6 = FURIOUS CHICKEN
- A back rank damage absorber, can absorb 1 - 2 attacks from monsters with sneak and opportunity since the chicken will have 2 armor. Might be useless if there are no monsters with sneak and opportunity and will eventually die in 2 rounds because of earthquake.
COMMENCE BATTLE
ROUND 1

All of enemy monsters are flying. Using Wave Runner might a very good idea at this point.
ROUND 2
After Ice pixie destroyed the enemy armor, Wave Runner dealt a 5 melee damage to the tank and activating the skill snare, even if it did not attack my tank and died from thorns, it would eventually die from the earthquake
ROUND 3
Wave Runner even got lucky and landed a hit on those pesky cockatrice and ended its life.
ROUND 4
Wave Runner even endure all those earthquakes and lives to tell its tale.
RESULT
The best satisfactory feeling was winning with most of your preparations being utilized in the battle.

WAVE RUNNER, even if it is not a flying monster, prove to be a very useful and effective pick even in an earthquake ruleset. Snare and reach skills made it possible for this battle to have a high chance of victory.
