Exploring the Mount Victoria Forest Park. 📷 Malaga - Spain

A few meters away from the carved forest containing tree trunks carved by a great artist I talked about before, is the Monte Victoria Forest Park.

A large expanse of forest and natural life where I found only nature, birds, and all kinds of plants, shrubs and trees.

I got there by looking at the map of the city, and discovered that between the Centro district and the Montes de Málaga was this great forest, so I decided to go there and see what I could find.

The surprise was very big, pure nature and in a very vast terrain of which I have not yet covered the whole of it.

I was looking at the map and above this park are the Montes de Málaga, then to one side the Gibralfaro mountain and then two other mountains.

It is named after the Patron Saint of Malaga and its proximity to the Sanctuary of La Victoria. It is also known as Cerro de San Cristóbal or Cerro de las Tres Letras.

Due to the large number of mountains and nature reserves this park has been isolated from civilisation so that you can enjoy nature without the intervention of man.

According to the map there is a hermitage which is very far away and isolated from the general population called the hermitage of Calvario on the mountain of the same name. But on this occasion I didn't go there and preferred to just enjoy nature.

According to the signs I found along the way, this park covers an area of more than 300,000 m2 and is almost 200 metres above sea level.

Due to the storms and the climate, many tree species were lost and for this reason the area was reforested in the 40s and 50s.

Above all, I could observe varieties of pines, such as the Aleppo pine, eucalyptus, although I am not sure if it is the medicinal variety.

At that time the storms caused a lot of mud to run down the slopes of the mountain and reach the city causing a lot of damage. That is why so many pines were planted among other species.

It was very good to find explanatory signs at the beginning of the tour, to learn more about the history of the park and its modifications.

Many of the trees I saw there I knew because I had seen them when I lived in Argentina, so I was familiar with the eucalyptus, olive, pine and carob trees.

I could also see a lot of broom and according to the signs there is also aladierno.

Walking through the trees is still safe as the summer season has not yet arrived, when snakes and other snakes can be seen.

So I took the opportunity to walk through the spaces between the trees, going off the signposted path.

There were many areas that were uphill and difficult to climb, as well as uneven and winding areas. But I was able to pass through all these areas without any problems, so I could admire the beauty of the vegetation, and above all the treetops that I like so much.

According to the signs you could see reptiles such as chameleons, lizards, as well as the snakes I mentioned before, but I didn't see any on this route. I guess it is not yet warm enough for them to come out and admire them.

Other species in the park include hedgehogs, shrews, mice, squirrels. I think the most common of them all are the squirrels, especially in the trees.

I did see several blackbirds, which are present all over the city, in most of its parks and squares. Also goldfinches with their particular trills. In this case I could hear them very clearly.

I would have liked to see owls, because I love them, but I suppose there will be no lack of opportunities to return to the place and find them.

The signs told of more animals that could be seen such as booted eagles and robins among others. Next time I will observe much better.

This time I concentrated more on the vegetation, the fresh air, the energy in the place as I walked among them.

Then I went back to the marked paths because it was difficult to pass through the thick vegetation.

A beautiful place to enjoy a natural environment, away from the city, where peace reigns, natural sounds, lots of fresh air.

Besides, nature brings many health benefits, so in addition to an incredible and beautiful walk I was able to oxygenate my body and clear my mind.

All of nature is healing, many of its plants are medicinal and those that are not are healing with oxygen in the environment and with its good energy helping with stress and difficult situations.

The mind clears or problems can also be solved better due to the great flow of oxygen that they generate in our lungs and therefore in the blood.

Thank you all for joining me on my walk in this beautiful park. Best regards to all of you, see you next time.
Amonet.

What a beautiful park you have visited, dear friend @avdesing, how good it is that after the loss of some tree species due to the climate, they reforested. What a wonderful place to walk and enjoy peace and nature.
Thank you very much for letting us know about this beautiful park.

I need to get lost for a while there, there must be many hidden owls and if not, Buhito will colonize it with owls, I'm talking nonsense haha 🦉🦉

Beautiful forest ❤️

thePark looks super cool! So many trees and plants! It must have been like being in a big green jungle! 🌿 It’s awesome that they planted new trees to make the park all pretty again. Excellent hike! It's interesting that it reminds you of Argentina. I imagine that Argentina has a variety of environments because of its size.

Beautiful places in the photos. I know from my own experience that photographs cannot convey the entire expanse of the landscape. It is better to visit such a place yourself))

Hello friend, first of all, this great experience was incredible and above all the opportunity to be able to visit each of those spaces and in that way be able to know, photograph and have a wonderful time on that great trip. Now reading and seeing each of the shots you took allows us to travel to that place and have a great time in contact with nature and many trees. Success and the adventure continues.
