Process in pictures - Proceso en imágenes

Many times we don't recognise ourselves, we don't know who we are, or we don't know ourselves. We don't even know what's inside us.

We need to look in a mirror to be able to see ourselves and often that mirror is looking at our reflection or perhaps at someone else.

When we don't recognise ourselves there is no colour in life but when we begin to know ourselves colour begins to appear and flood us.

Design process

The design is made with 7 images and in 16 layers.

For the background I chose a watercolour image in pink colours and on it I placed another watercolour image as spots, in three layers with fusions focal light, lighten and soft light.

Then I worked a lot on the woman's face. First I made 4 layers of the same one, previously I passed the image to black and white and in the last layer of those four, I erased the eyes, nose and mouth. The fusions used were focal light, strong light, lighter and normal colour.

On top of that I put one of the mirrors altering the scale and the shape, in two layers with darker colour and strong light fusions.

Then I put three more layers of the woman's face but in colour. I arranged it in three layers with fusions luminosity, normal and soft light. I erased some parts of the middle layer to remove colour from parts of the face.

Then in three layers I used the flowers, the mask and the butterfly. The fusions used were strong and normal light.

The animation is done completely in After Effects, working on the opacity of each layer and adding lights in the form of clouds for better contrast.

Muchas veces no nos reconocemos, no sabemos quién somos, o nos desconocemos. No sabemos ni que hay en nuestro interior.

Necesitamos mirar en un espejo para poder vernos y muchas veces ese espejo se encuentra mirando nuestro reflejo o quizá en alguien más.

Al no reconocernos no hay color en la vida, pero cuando comenzamos a conocernos a nosotros mismos el color comienza a aparecer e inundarnos.

Proceso del diseño

El diseño está realizado con 7 imágenes y en 16 capas.

Para el fondo elegí una imagen de acuarelas en colores rosados y sobre ella coloqué otra imagen de acuarelas como manchas, en tres capas con fusiones luz focal, aclarar y luz suave.

Luego trabaje bastante el rostro de la mujer. Primero hice 4 capas de la misma, previamente pasé la imagen a blanco y negro y en la última capa de esas cuatro, le borré los ojos, nariz y boca. Las fusiones usadas fueron luz focal, luz fuerte, color más claro y normal.

Sobre lo anterior puse uno de los espejos alterando la escala y la forma, en dos capas con fusiones color más oscuro y luz fuerte.

Luego puse tres capas más del rostro de la mujer, pero en color. Lo dispuse en tres capas con fusiones luminosidad, normal y luz suave. La capa de en medio le borré algunas partes para quitarle color a partes del rostro.

Luego en tres capas use las flores, la máscara y la mariposa. Las fusiones usadas fueron luz fuerte y normal.

La animación esta realizada completamente en After Effects, trabajando la opacidad de cada capa y agregando luces en forma de nubes para un mejor contraste.
